We are from out of town coming to visit and celebrate my Hokies 21st birthday . Found this gem online and started communicating via email to order a cake for her celebration.
Not sure who was replying to the emails but they were great ! Very responsive, informative and professional..
It’s always very scary to trust sight unseen for such a special occasion but glad to report was more than impressed and would highly recommend and plan on visiting more often when I’m in town .
Turns out my daughter and her friends visit this cafe often and also sing their praises on everything

The pesto, egg, sausage on asiago bagel was delicious. The coffee was clean with no off notes. I picked up a coffee cake muffin and a lemon cream cheese muffin (added later lemon cream cheese muffin has nuts) for later and to duplicate. The starter hipster atmosphere is nice. One chair was to hard, one chair was to soft, the couch was just right. I’ve been here before and while I’m not in Blacksburg often I usually end up here for breakfast.

The Barista was kind and thoughtful. They helped me get my order just right. The cold brew was incredible. The blueberry scones was one of the best I’ve ever had and I that is my go to test baked good, so I’ve tried quite a few.

I got a spicy chicken salad sandwich which was absolutely lovely. I get the same thing every time I go here food wise. This time I also ended up getting a blueberry lemonade and it was very sweet almost too sweet. Overall the food and drink were great but the price was exceptionally high for such seemingly inexpensive things.

Hokie makes good!!! This little shop is owned and operated by a Virginia tech grad. The ambience is perfect chill coffee shop. Baked goods are excellent (I really liked the chocolate banana bread). Bagel sandwich super tasty. Coffee was solid. Employees were friendly, too. This is my new go-to in Blacksburg. I’d rather hang out here and watch the world go by than eat corporate offal. Small shops rule the world.

Good latte but…. horrible muffins. My wife & I bought two muffins on Christmas Eve for the following morning and they were like cardboard. Completely devoid of flavor. So bad, we couldn’t tell the difference between the apple and blueberry muffins other than tiny specks of the supposed fruit. We threw them both away after the first bite.

We ordered catering from Next Door Bake Shop for the parents weekend football game at noon. We ordered the breakfast boxes and they were perfect! The team had the food and coffee ready for us on time and everything was delicious. This is the second time we have ordered for a game and both times we were so pleased. Highly recommend!
