Tried the Roll & Bowl combo (lobster roll + clam chowder) and both were awesome! The lobster roll was loaded with fresh lobster and the chowder had plenty of seafood with tons of flavor. The spot itself is small with casual outdoor seating, but don’t let that fool you. The food is seriously good. Definitely worth a stop!

I usually don’t leave reviews, but I found this place because of its reviews so I thought it only fair to return the favor! I was in Newport for three days and ate here three days in a row! The service was great and the food was incredible. On my last day, I met the owner Kate. She shared the story of how her late mom won multiple awards for her chowder recipe. Kate then started this business during Covid – first as food trucks then as a permanent establishment. The setting was authentic that you would have expected it to be there for years. They even sell seasoning for you to make it at home!

I needed something quick before the ferry to Rose Island. This had good reviews. Selected a lemonade and the roll and bowl. Picked the Connecticut roll (hot lobster roll). The clerk was charming, polite, and funny. She gave me some directions too. The roll was mouthwateringly good. The chowder was good but I wish I’d added salt and hot sauce. I may go back for another roll on my way back through. Definitely a good place. And it was fast. Covered seating but it’s really an outdoor place.

Perfect grab and go or quick sit down! Warm lobster roll on the soft buttery brioche bun was the best I’ve ever had!! The chowder was a perfect blend of spice and ingredients on a cool Newport day!!! Excellent service as well.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with their recommendations. The warm Lobster roll and seafood chowder were amazing. Good portion for the price. ***We also tried their secret menu item: Kitchen Sink Chips at the recommendation of the staff. It was amazing. Layer of your choice of chips, seafood chowder, cheese, and topped with bacon. Amazing creation boys!! This should be featured on the menu.

At first, it was like it’s just a small stand. But I saw Award Winning Seafood Chowder. So, we walked in and ordered Roll & Bowl Combo which is Lobster Roll and Seafood Chowder. Lobster roll was filled with big chunks of Lobster in a Texas Toast. So tasty. Having a chunk of Lobster in my mouth made my mouth soooo happy Can’t have enough Lobster! Now, Seafood Chowder, was another story. I don’t think I ever had that much Seafood in Seafood Chowder. Full of seafood and so creamy. Wow! The Best Lobster Roll and the bestest Seafood Chowder! You have to try it!

Yes, the line was long, but the staff moved like a well-oiled (but buttered) machine — slinging bowls and lobster rolls with speed and genuine smiles. Service? Top-tier. Like, “someone’s-mom-who-actually-likes-you” kind of warm.
Now, let’s talk lobster rolls — we had three (because restraint is overrated). These 4oz beauties were loaded with luscious, claw-heavy meat, nestled in a golden, toasty bun that could moonlight as a pillow. A squeeze of lemon and a crisp lettuce leaf completed the picture like a still life from a coastal Renaissance painting.
Then came the clam chowder — creamy, briny, and rich, with chunks of clam that whispered sweet nothings to our taste buds. It wasn’t trying too hard with gimmicks, just a straight-up classic done very right. Bonus points for not skimping on the seafood.
The shrimp cocktail rounded out our oceanic binge with jumbo shrimp that had just enough snap and a zingy, homemade cocktail sauce that said, “I didn’t come from a bottle, thank you very much.”
With harbor views, cheerful staff, and seafood that actually tastes like it came from the sea (imagine that!), Newport Chowder Company made waves — the delicious kind. Would I elbow my way through a festival crowd again for another bite? In a heartbeat.

We catered Newport Chowder Company for an event at our organization and all we can say is WOW! Katie and her team produced a delicious and beautifully crafted spread of chowders and lobster rolls. They were an absolute smash hit! Creamy and herby chowder and nice full lobster rolls made to perfection. Katie was great to work with throughout the process – very attentive to questions and needs.
