We stopped in Catskills on our way from NYC to Montreal and this was a great idea. In this lovely Main Street, we found the New York Restaurant and enjoy our dinner there. Very fresh food, tasty and colorful plates, great ambiance, lovely staff. Great overall experience!

I would call it Polish Fusion. (From a Poles perspective )!
Few traditional Polish dishes with a twist plus other items. Enjoyed the Pork and Chicken Schnitzels. Potato and Cheese pierogi. Burrata with prosciutto.
Enjoyed. Staff were very caring and friendly. Nice ambiance and place was clean. Reservations recommended especially Friday and Saturday evenings. Place was fairly packed. Didn’t feel rushed. Noticed a private room in the back for Bigger groups. Will return again. Place is in downtown Catskill!

A modern, thoughtfully decorated, hip place for a cosmopolitan meal. The restaurant is a gem in Catskill. Our party of four made reservations, and we’re seated right away. The place was full on a Friday evening. The menu includes Polish cuisine inspired dishes and other American fare. We loved the beer on tap, that menu items had vegan options (for my wife), and best of all, the home made kielbasa. Seriously, you should try the kielbasa. The prices were kind of high if you’re on a budget, but the experience and quality were well worth the cost.

Delicious food, felt they were very German inspired. Although the menu has a bit of everything. The food came out very fast! Service was excellent ! Also they have a full bar.

The drinks are delicious. They are unique and taste good. I had the Georgia this time. There was no wait with reservations. The waitress is friendly and very attentive. They switch their menu every few months for variety. The drinks are changed up too every few months. The food is great. I had the octopus dinner and my fiancé had the pinwheel sole. The dessert was delicious as well. Great atmosphere. The prices are reasonable. They let you enjoy your meal instead of rushing you out the door.

So, clearly they are under new management… We walked in and it took TWO seasoned women to find somewhere to sit us in a restaurant that had no one there.. we were a family of 4.. FYI- there were literally two tables full… should have been a red flag… the menu Lacked the “polish fare,” butfor a few items, which weren’t even good AT ALL. The special perogies were probably the only descent thing we ate… crazy enough, the problem was that they were almost $20 for a handful!!! Next best dish was the kielbasa corndogs… get the mustard on the side for that one. We had the golomki, which was TERRIBLE! The cabbage was SO undercooked (mine was not even cooked AT ALL, it was crunchy) .. Not even any meat inside… I’d say, PASS on this place, unless you’re just going for drinks.. bc the polish beer with raspberry sauce was great! Quinton was an excellent server and was very apologetic for the TERRIBLE food.. the “new management” didn’t even come over when we sent back the gross food, until we were literally putting our coats on. Def new-bie restaurateurs… don’t bother dropping over $100 on yuck..

Loved our experience here at New York Restaurant! The service was exceptional, warm and inviting. Meal was excellent. Peach cocktail was delicious. Kielbasa gnocchi dish was extremely flavorful, as was the scallops and tour of Poland dish. Would definitely recommend.

We were excited to try this restaurant. The food was delicious, atmosphere eclectic, but service & the table next to us was HORRIBLE! We made a reservation for 4 but our friends had an emergency & had to cancel so we gave up our table of four to eat at the bar. Let me start by saying the table directly behind us (“regulars” per the bartender) we’re discussing politics & such with f-bombs and other profanities. When we finally turned around and asked him to keep it down , he said “f-you” to us and continued ranting. The couple next to us at the bar were appalled as well! He just went on and on! The bartender said he was a “regular” there. I’m not sure why you would let this “regular” discuss politics & profanities out loud & ruin other customers meals?! Let me say it is a TURN OFF! I suggest sticking this realtor “regular” far away from other customers if you want to stay in business. We complained to the owner & all she said was “really?”. Not sure we’ll be back?!

Great staff, good food!
We came in on a Friday night 3 weeks ago and the place was full. The patrons were on a first-name basis with the staff.
We had pierogi (truffle + parm and potato + cheese) to share, my husband had the pork schnitzel and my friend had the burger with the Brie to quote him, “this has got to be one of the best burgers I’ve had” all the food were very delightful! They had a kids menu too.
I definitely recommend and will come back here next time we visit!
