Everything is delicious here! The prices are generally reasonably priced. There’s almost always a line to get your food, but it moves really quickly. There is no place to sit but I’m not sure if people have expectations of that for a bagel place anyway.

This place will ruin all other bagels for you. Reasonable prices, very quick service, stupid good food. 10/10 every time. Line goes quick when it’s busy.

New York bagel is out of this world!!!The perfect combination of chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside, with just the right amount of seasoning. Whether you like yours with cream cheese, lox, or just plain, you can’t go wrong with a classic New York bagel. It’s no wonder why they are famous all over the world!
We bought a dozen of these delicious bagels, cut them up and did a bagel tasting with the family. It was fun mixing and matching/creating the various combinations. Our favourite was the everything bagel with the chive cream cheese. We look forward to our next dozen bagels and trying some of the other sandwich combinations on the menu.

This is the best breakfast place (hambo being tied here) in the area. I will choose NYB over any of the gussied up brunch spots 11 times out of 10. Salt sticks are my standby, but a jalapeño bagel with butter, or a salt bagel with sausage egg and cheese is always solid as well. The staff is always on their game, and Kim is one of my favorite people in Ferndale. Just eat here, quit overthinking it!

Been going for 30 years. Used to be thee bagel and competed with anything in New York. Sorry it’s not the same bagel from 5 years ago. The update of interior is nice but IMO loses nostalgic feel and vibe. There’s equivalent bagels around and I never said that before.

We’ve been ordering from New York Bagel (on Woodward) for years now, and have always loved it. First order in about 3-4mo and wow have things changed. The bagels were tiny (about half the size of a Lenders for comparison), and the toppings (breakfast, and lunchmeat bagel) were minimal and disappointing. The amount of cream cheese was laughable and may have been less than a tablespoon for the third bagel we ordered.
Read that there are new owners, which sucks, because this place was a staple. Would give 1-Star, yet the taste of the food was still good. Will not be returning.

Excellent bagel sandwich just wish there was a place to sit enjoy it they do have standing counter but just a couple of stools would be great. But that’s me being picky. Excellent bagels and service

Best bagels in metro Detroit. Try the lox, you will not be disappointed!

The new owner has killed this places charm. Bagels are smaller and taste different. Hes now renovating and did not even have the decency to list on his website that he is closed. Glad I drive up here before work at 7 am to not get anything. Not a good experience like it used to be, and mind you I’ve been coming to this place for 20 years.

I hope this reviews lands In the eyes of NY bagels original owner (Howard) and not his son (Phil) Please, for the love of god, I mean Ferndale, nominate another family member to carry on your legacy, your son is quite literally running people away from ever returning. When a customer calls to complain it’s common sense you don’t YELL, talk over and hang up on him! You’ve officially lost our business and while you may not care because your pockets will continue to swell, know your reputation is trash. You should be ashamed of yourself for treating a customer this way. Your poor employees, anytime I hear of your hiring, I cringe. .
PS. Howard, don’t you have other family members who genuinely want to be there? Because Phil doesn’t, his demeanor in person is a clear indication. So unpleasant.
Do better
