On August 30th, 2025, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch at New Shan-E-Punjab. We tried the mix non-veg platters, goat biriyani, and the non-veg thali. The food was truly delicious, with rich, authentic flavors that made every dish memorable. The goat biriyani was outstanding—aromatic rice with tender, well-cooked meat. The non-veg thali offered a delightful variety, and the mix platters were perfect for sharing. The portion sizes were excellent, making it a great value as well. Overall, a wonderful dining experience that we would definitely recommend!

Excellent restaurant with love for food truly in the taste that you will get here. No fancy stuff but a true food lover’s paradise. Expect nothing but the authentic taste and excellent fast service. I am truly surprised by the price (reasonable to low)as well as compared to other Indian restaurants here.

We ordered Jain food for lunch for 10 people, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. We had given a heads up the night before, and the food was prepared right on time. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced — not too mild, not too spicy.
We ordered Dal Makhani, Sham Savera, and Kaju Curry, and all three dishes were spot on in taste and quality. Truly impressed with how authentic and tasty the Punjabi flavors were, even in Jain preparations.
Highly recommend this place for delicious Punjabi food — and especially if you’re looking for Jain options done right!

We went there with three families, and honestly, out of everything we ordered, only the paneer bhurji curry was good; the rest was just okay. The owner or server wasn’t very friendly, and to top it off, when we ordered, he messed up and then insisted we keep it, saying “no, you said this.” Plus, it’s not really family-friendly, so I wouldn’t recommend it, especially if you have kids. Oh, and their sweet lassi was super sweet and watery, so we didn’t even like that.

This tiny little place doesn’t attract you with its decor or its ambiance, rather it tries to make its way with the food it serves.
I had a takeout order from this place and had a couple of items, chicken biryani and chana masala. The biryani was good and the chana masala had authentic taste. The portions are good and the price is in accordance with other similar sized restaurants.
The place is located right besides the street so parking isn’t in abundance and depends on the time of the day, but generally you’d find street parking so it wouldn’t be an issue. It’s a decent place to have takeouts and experience the food.

Alright, so I ordered a few more items from the menu and, spoiler alert, it was YUMMM. I had to try their bullet naan because it just sounded so fancy. I paired that with Achari chicken and something that I wanted to try from their vegetarian list called kaju kadai.
Let me just say that I was amazed at the curry for the kaju kadai. It was rich, smooth and creamy with mild punchy flavor and the crunchy cashew pieces (whole and half cut). Everything tasted great. The Achari chicken had the right amount of spices and flavor and had that little tangy punch to it. The bullet naan comprised of coriander and green chilli pieces and tasted absolutely superb.
I would highly recommend to try the bullet naan, Kaju kadai (if you’re a fan of cashews in a curry) and the Achari chicken.

Hands down, the best Indian food in in Edison/Iselin! So much authentic and rich flavors. Highly recommend the Chicken and Goat curry with garlic naan!
