We had an excellent experience at this Indian restaurant. The food was truly delicious — you can really taste the authentic, traditional Indian flavors. The service was outstanding as well: friendly, attentive, and very welcoming.
The location is beautiful, and parking was easy, which made the visit even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Indian cuisine and a wonderful overall dining experience!

Comfortable setting. Food came relatively quickly. But i had a bad first impression—staff member who greeted and seated us never smiled or seemed very welcoming—robotic with a scowl. He also took our order the same way.
Overall, it was adequate Indian cuisine but I’ve had way better. I don’t like giving negative reviews but I know they could do much better with a little effort.

Our party of 7 celebrated with a birthday dinner on 2/20/26. So many dishes to choose from. We ordered butter chicken (the best), chicken jalfrezi, mushroom chicken, lamb vindaloo and of course plenty of garlic naan! We had such a wonderful time and the food was amazing. If you are ever in New Paltz, you really need to try this restaurant. You absolutely won’t be disappointed

The food is always delicious, We have tried different chicken, beef and lamb dishes and never disappointed.
The samosas are the best ! With the 3 sauces!
I love that you can bring your own bottle of wine for not charge and have an amazing date.
I recommend that if you go in a group, you order all the dishes to share. They serve a lot, and you’ll surely have leftovers to eat the next day.
I recommend the beef and chicken vindaloo, the Biryanis, the tandoori, and my favorite the Lamb Bhuna.
I have not try a bad dish
Bread the Nan and the Poori (I have not try others)
Comfy food, always good before go home to a movie night.

Absolutely fantastic! The food here was incredibly delicious and tasted very traditional. Every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully prepared.
The service was excellent – friendly, fast and attentive without being intrusive. We felt very welcome from the moment we walked in.
This is honestly the best Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Highly recommended!

The yellow tablecloth pictures in other reviews was very dirty. It showed noticeable dark stains all over it, including marks on the glass above. Dust and dirt noticeable in many places while sitting to eat. Water pitcher was genuinely sticky, especially in the area water funnels out through. Food was not good compared to other indian spots in the area. Servers were very kind and sweet.

Always fresh, and delicious. We order family style so we can share the tastes.

Walked in randomly to try this place. Ordered the chicken liver bhaji appetizer, lamb korma, chef special biryani and for dessert the rice pudding. …. I must say it’s been a while since I’ve been to a restaurant that all four choices were delicious! Can’t speak for any other dishes but the above were great!!! Would definitely frequent if I lived here! Staff was also pleasant and attentive if that’s is helpful … enjoy!

Excellent food, large portions so we always have leftovers which is an extra treat. Warm, friendly staff. We live 45 minutes away and will often make a special trip or stop on our way back from the city to Shokan.
