“Deep sigh” I really wish I had read some of the recent reviews before I ordered from the New Mandarin chinese restaurant. I am not going to tell you what I ordered because it was to disgusting to mention. If you insist on patronizing this restaurant than order plain white rice and a vegetable egg roll. 20 bucks down the drain.

My second experience was much better than the first. However the fried rice is beyond basic. No eggs no scallions. I would rather pay a bit more for a better product. Good is personal and when we are hungry we do not want to be disappointed.

During this pandemic, I applaud restaurants that are open and adapting to the current need for safety and provide good service to their clients!

Tasty food and excellent prices, especially for the lunch specials! So much food for less than $10. I got the bean curd dish with white rice, a spring roll, and hot and sour soup, and my boyfriend got the general tso chicken. Definitely will come here again, especially since they have the lunch special on the weekends.

I’d normally shy away from a 3.7 star rated restaurant, but my wife decided to order there for some reason and to our shock and delight, their Kung Pao Chicken was made with the recipe we grew up with, chicken, peanuts, slightly spicy brown sauce, nothing else! Thank the stars! A Chinese restaurant that gets it!

today was my 3rd time there. first meal was great; 2nd, not so great, especially, the tasteless wings. today i ordered shrimp and broccoli and shrimp with snow peas, shrimp spring rolls, and egg rolls. the snow peas were very mushy, and the egg rolls were very very greasy. i live only 10 minutes away and by the time i got home the food was no longer even slightly warm. i won’t be returning!!! the shrimp and broccoli were ok, thus, the two stars.

I accidentally ordered my lunch from the wrong restaurant today, so when I showed up to the wrong place I decided to order the same meal again. I picked up both (chicken chow mein with egg roll). New Mandarin’s spring roll was lighter and tastier, the fried rice was better, and the chow mein had an extra flavor that set it above the competition (maybe sesame oil?). The staff is really nice. Outstanding deal for lunch. For dinner, or a nice seated experience, you might pick elsewhere, but this is primo for lunch and carryout.

I don’t understand the poor reviews, unless you go there expecting it to be something it’s not. This is the classic “hole in the wall” Chinese place. No, it’s not some gourmet pish-posh scene with five star cuisine, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s super affordable and tasty. The lunch special is great. I generally have the orange chicken, however the chow mein is also top notch. Their spring rolls are the best I’ve ever had! You go there for inexpensive and delicious food, not a fancy atmosphere and kowtowing. After all, the best Chinese food doesn’t come from the most luxurious joints.
