PERFECT SPOT FOR DATE NIGHT!. It’s your classic sushi restaurant that you can count on to hit the spot. Fish was SO fresh and everything we ordered was super tasty and delicious. The restaurant was clean and the servers were nice– what more can you ask for from a restaurant??
We ordered:
Edamame- your standard salted edamame, a delightful snack for my kids
Toro on the rock- 10/10 recommend this! So fresh, melt in your mouth and it’s topped with fresh wasabi. It’s perfect!!
Jalapeño Hamachi- I love yellowtail, so this is a must for me
Kayla Roll- 10/10 the best role IMO.
Goku roll- also very delicious with a nice crunch!
Shrimp tempura roll- for my sister who doesn’t eat anything raw. She enjoyed this!
Hamachi Kama- so so sooooo good and meaty!! Nice sized portion!
Spicy pork lunch plate- LOVED everything on the plate! It’s perfect for those who don’t eat raw. Perfect portion for me.
Salmon belly nigiri- the BEST! Melts in your mouth and I love the fresh wasabi

Goku Sushi was pretty good. The decor is quite charming with a mix of a traditional Japanese storefront facade inside and more modern characters scattered around.
The sushi was inventive and tasty.
We would recommend the Goku Special for most anyone (not pictured).

Sashimi is fresh, specially the smoking sashimi!!!
Also the fried oyster, perfect coating with juice oyster inside.
I would give extra star if I could.
Only issue they have right now it’s they are soft opening, kinda short staff. Take extra time for the food and service, which is understandable.
But with the quality of the food, it’s worth the wait.

I want to say this place was setup more like a dinner setting. Not the usual sushi place you go to. Seem like mainly booth or table seating only. Not that it’s a bad thing. Just that if you’re used to Japanese restaurants in San Jose, this isn’t it
Overall the service was good and the food was great. Price wise I’m surprise. For the quality the price was good. It wasn’t as expensive as some of the sushi restutant in San Jose with worst quality. Hope it stays that way. This will be my go to sushi place when I’m in the area.

The sushi was amazing. Favorites were Morgan Hill roll, sweet potato roll, and the unagi avocado roll. Prices were a bit expensive, but it was worth it.
I liked how the sushi did not crumble, made it easier to eat. I am definitely coming back again.

My husband and I went on a date here. Service was excellent, they just opened (2 weeks ago) so they have a small staff, we waited very little. Friendly atmosphere and very relaxed. My husband tried the smoked ahi tuna sashimi (boy was that delicious) he enjoyed it. I wanted more of that. Pretty presentation as well. They give you nice thiccc slices—so that’s really nice. We also ordered their Goku roll which we will grab every time we visit, it’s balanced flavors and textures really make it delicious. There soft shell grab was cooked perfectly however the sauce that accompanied it, just wasn’t it for us. Someone else might enjoy it however we think there should be another sauce to really elevate the dish. The Lion king roll is pretty good but I personally like it a little more creamier and tiny bit sweeter. (This is from my experience of having lion king roll from multiple sushi restaurants) Lion king is one of my favorite rolls so if I had to rate it, I’d probably give it a 7/10. Overall we had a great time, my husband was happy and well that’s just priceless. We are definitely coming back. Excited to try the rest of the menu.

I heard there is a new restaurant just opened in town so I came to try. The food and services surprised me. Their fish is so fresh and the staff was smiling the whole time while I was eating. They also gave me some house special which is incredible too. Highly highly recommend this place. 10/10. Definitely coming back for sure.

The Smoking Sashimi was amazing! I ordered the salmon. The presentation is amazing — it comes out on a platter with a clear “cake dish” cover. You can see all the smoke from the apple wood smoking they capture inside the cover with your fish, which is on top of the salt rock slab. It was delicious. So was the Rainbow Roll. Good miso soup. Good price on beer; I got a Sapporo. The servers were very friendly, attentive, answered all my questions, and did an excellent job. Great restaurant!
