My family has gone here every year on Christmas Eve, for good reason. First of all, there are seven of us with very different food preferences. So even now that it’s a 45 minute drive, it’s where you can find us.
The food has always been made fresh, and the workers are super nice! The honey-walnut shrimp is amazing as well as the stuffed mushrooms. Then there are the classics; teriyaki chicken, beef and broccoli, fried rice, you get the idea. I’ve never had food cold, that I remember, and if there is something that seems like it’s getting there, you can just ask the staff when the next batch will be out. They will talk to the kitchen for you.
If someone has to stay at home, there is a pay by the pound option, which they make easy and convenient.
Is it authentic? Of course not. But that doesn’t mean it’s bad.
The place is old, yes, but they keep it clean and warm.

Food was hot and fresh. We got there at 4:30pm, so an early supper, and all the food looked very appetizing. Our group of four sat at a table near the buffet and enjoyed our meal in a quiet but busy dining room. I loved the shrimp entrees and had bites of almost everything, including the impressive cheesecake, which tasted homemade. There’s an ice cream machine that worked and the soup was a bamboo/mushroom/egg drop that had a little kick to it. I will be coming back!

I grew up coming here. As a kid who didn’t branch out much when it came to food, I got to try new (to me) things while also having foods I was familiar with. I tried won tons, lo mein, and beef and broccoli for the first time. As I got older I got to branch out and try new things but always went back to the old favorites. I loved the garlic green beans most.
The day I found out they were taken, I was heartbroken. I felt the most unsafe in my community that I ever had. I hope they reopen soon.

It really depends on the time of day you go, especially for the buffet. Anytime near lunch or dinner it’s excellent. However during the slow times it can dry out a bit from sitting. I LOVE the peanut butter chicken.

ICE needs to let these people go. Taking them in the parking lot was insane, uncalled for, and disgusting.

The food was nasty. Quality of food is very poor, most things are wet, soggy, and taste metallic. A lot of the items was cold and I had spit out most of the food because I was feeling nausea from taking just a few bites. The lady at the desk refused to give me a refund because “ I was there for awhile already” . In her own words she said they had complaints about the food being cold and told me to get hot items. I had already tasted the hot items and it was still not good food.
They refused to give me a refund. I will never go here again . Mind you I’m not from Elk River and was just passing by.

I found the buffet food during my most recent visit to be average – some good and some not so good. Some of the food was greasy and the sweet sour chicken cold and tasteless. My favorite was the coconut chicken and the salmon. Sometimes it’s hard to avoid this place since it is only a few blocks from my place. Most convenient for our family.

Absolutely love the Japanese chicken. All the food here is good and fair priced. The folks that own the business also run it themselves i believe. Keep making that good good food. I do wanna know how to make that Japanese chicken though. Just tastes amazing.
