We came here as a family of four and enjoyed the food very much! The owner is super nice and also the atmosphere is great. We shared a few main dishes, which was more than enough. We can highly recommend this wonderful place!

Wonderful discovery in Lisbon! As Indians visiting the city, we were delighted to find authentic Himalayan cuisine at New Himalaia.

Sujata and Gaurav provided exceptional service – incredibly friendly and genuinely helpful in guiding us through the menu. Despite being familiar with Indian food, they took the time to introduce us to some outstanding Nepali curries that we might have otherwise overlooked.

The absolute star of our meal? The chilli momos. These are a MUST-TRY – perfectly crafted with just the right amount of heat and flavor. They alone are worth the visit!

The entire experience was fantastic, from the warm hospitality to the delicious food. If you’re in Lisbon and craving Himalayan cuisine, New Himalaia should be at the top of your list.

Highly recommended!

The staff were very nice and the food really good. We especially liked the Chicken Tikka Masala, the naan wasn’t our favourite though. The rice is unlimited and we received a little Mango Lassi Shot at the end of our meal.
Spiciness can be adjusted, mine had very little just like I asked for.

New Himalaia is one of those rare places that instantly makes you feel at home the moment you walk in. Tucked away in the heart of Lisbon, it’s a warm, welcoming spot where the aroma of spices greets you before the staff do — and both are equally delightful.

The owners are truly the soul of this restaurant. You can feel their passion in every detail — from the way they greet regulars by name to how they’ll take a moment to explain a dish’s origins or recommend something special from the kitchen. There’s a genuine sense of care here, and it transforms a simple meal into a personal experience.

And the food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish bursts with flavor — rich, balanced, and beautifully presented. The curries are deep and aromatic, the naan is fluffy and fresh from the tandoor, and even the simplest rice feels elevated. It’s authentic Himalayan and Indian cuisine done with heart and precision.

The vibe is relaxed yet vibrant — perfect for a casual dinner, a date night, or just a comforting meal after a long day exploring the city. Soft music, warm lighting, and the occasional laughter from the kitchen make it feel like you’re eating in someone’s home rather than a restaurant.

In short, New Himalaia isn’t just about great food — it’s about genuine hospitality. Lisbon has many good restaurants, but few with this much heart. Highly, highly recommended!

Had dinner with family today and it was great. The service was attentive and friendly. They readily filled glasses and even gave a full jug of water and topped up without asking. They gave us 2 servings of papadom and 2 portions of pilaf rice on the house. They even freely gave us tiny mugs of mango lassi at the end (a sweet finish to the satisfying meal) and a palate cleanser which is so intriguing.

We ordered chicken momo, sag paneer which the kids love, mixed vegetables, lamb everest which was so creamy, and another lamb dish. Everyone ate well and were happy with the meal and service.

Wonderful experience of Nepali hospitality. Strongly recommended. Spice level can be adjusted.

I went to eat at New Himalaya with my family and it was a pleasant surprise: the staff was very kind to my son, the food is excellent and the portions are generous. The quality/price ratio is exceptional. If I were to return to Lisbon, I would definitely eat here again.
