New Delhi at 4004 Chestnut Street delivered an awiholiday party takeout feast with their Party Pack for 20, offering both quality and generous portions. The Alu Palak was warmly spiced and flavorful with tender potatoes folded into a richly seasoned spinach base, while the chicken biryani stood out for its fragrant basmati rice and perfectly cooked, well-marinated pieces of chicken. The chicken tikka masala was a crowd-pleaser—creamy, & vibrant, and the vegetable samosas were crisp, savory, and ideal for a festive gathering. Altogether, the spread “hit the spot” and made hosting effortless, earning New Delhi high marks for both convenience and taste.

Best Chicken Tikka Masala I’ve ever had, plus lamb & goat dishes. Excellent Muttar Paneer and Chicken Vindaloo. They also have vegetarian and gluten free selections. Freshly baked naan. Buffet includes desert and tea. Nice place, nice people.

This is the real deal, as far as Indian cuisine goes. Last night my friend enjoyed the buffet, but I ordered a feast from the menu: lamb vindaloo (medium spice) and cream Korma Chicken, garlic nan and vegetable samosa (2). Both dishes were masterfully prepared and served. The spiced Chai tea and mango/vanilla soft serve are welcome new additions. New Deli Indian Restaurant has an amazing kitchen, transplanted here from New York City. Today, after carefully warming and enjoying my leftovers for a fantastic lunch, I had to write a review for this special place. I have visited New Deli often for over 15 years and it is still great!

I’ve been making my way to all the indian spots around my block and this one’s my favorite of the three I’ve tried so far. I had Chicken Tikka Masala Hot, Samosa, Raita, and Garlic Naan. All delicious and very generous portions, I’ll have food for at least another meal or two. And Holy Samosa! They’re huge. Only took about 10 minutes from walking in and ordering to having my takeout ready. I’ll definitely be back.

As someone who hasn’t had the opportunity to try much Indian food, I truly appreciated the buffet experience here. For about $23 on weekends (and around $17 during weekday lunch), you can sample a wide variety of menu items, which I loved.

Everything I tried was extremely delicious. I had butter chicken, goat curry, lamb curry, naan, samosas, and even their dessert option—which reminded me of a honey-glazed donut hole and paired it with vanilla ice cream. I probably went back for 3–4 plates of most items… haha! I will definitely be back soon, as I’m already thinking about my next visit.

I also really appreciated that they provide clear allergy labels for each menu item—both at the buffet and online. As someone with a severe nut allergy, I’m often hesitant to try new cuisines when labeling is unclear. Seeing labels like nut-free and gluten-free made me feel much more comfortable and confident eating here.

The employees were extremely kind and helpful as well, which added to the overall positive experience.
Additionally, they offer takeout for about $9.50 per pound (as of January 2026), and the takeout containers are a very reasonable size.

The all you can eat buffet spread was fantastic, with a variety of delicious options. From tender chicken, flavorful lamb, and succulent goat dishes to plenty of great vegetarian choices, there’s something for everyone. The flavors were rich and authentic, and everything was perfectly spiced.

The highlight for me was the Gulab Jamun for dessert – it was absolutely delicious! Soft, warm, and perfectly sweet. I can’t wait to return for another round. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving great Indian food in Philly.

Worst ever indian food. The taste was not good and most importantly the foods were not fresh at all. Felt sick after my dinner here
