Thus was our first time visiting and it was a lovely experience. Very charming and present little breakfast place. The staff was very welcoming and service was perfect. Food was fresh and delicious. I was very surprised with very generous portions. Great job! We will be back.

Quaint little restaurant that stays open until 8 PM on Thursdays. Their Thursday dinner menu changes every week. On this particular Thursday evening, I had the shrimp with cheese ravioli and my wife had the prime rib with au jus, green beans and loaded baked potato. Both meals were very well prepared and delicious. If you haven’t found or tried New Day Cafe for their Thursday dinner, l suggest you add them to your list.
It gets busy fast on Thursday evenings since that is the only day New Day Cafe stays open until 8 PM. Please note there is a 3.5% fee for paying with a card. Based on the tables I saw, I recommend no more than 5 to a group (just my opinion/suggestion).

We visited today and sat at the counter. After being seated, we waited at least five minutes before anyone acknowledged us, despite several employees walking past us, including who appeared to be the manager, who only said hello. Our server eventually helped us with coffee and took our order.

Unfortunately, when the food arrived, I found a long black hair in my dish. Our server, a young man, was apologetic and handled it professionally. However, the woman who appeared to be the manager showed little concern and did not engage with us at all.

To make matters worse, my order had already been entered incorrectly, so I had to wait for it to be remade — and then it came out with hair in it. The server comped that dish, but given the multiple mistakes, the response felt insufficient. The food overall was not good.

While this was happening, another customer sitting next to us mentioned that her friend had found plastic in their food during a visit the previous week. I can’t verify that personally, but it didn’t help our confidence.

Finally, after finishing, we waited another 5–10 minutes just to get the check. Our server was covering both the counter and tables, while other staff stood at the register and did not offer to help.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience — poor service, food quality issues, and a lack of management accountability. We won’t be returning.

Ordered chicken fried steak, 2 eggs on top with potato cubes with pepper and onions. My family had 1)Balsamic chicken sandwich and 2)mango cheesecake french toast. Great options, both breakfast and lunch menus, also a specials menu. Tables turn over quickly from the effective employees

Poor customer service! My wife and I arrived at about 12:30 for lunch. The restaurant was busy, but there were two tables available at the front. With additional chairs, the tables could set six or a very tight eight.
The first waitress told us that she could not seat two people at the empty tables. After waiting for about ten minutes, a party of three walked in. A second waitress told the party of three that they could sit at one of the empty tables. When I asked if my wife and I could sit at the second empty table, we were refused service for a second time. We left the restaurant and ate somewhere else.
For anyone who has not been to this restaurant, all of the tables can seat four people. Why the restaurant chooses to treat parties of three differently than parties of two is beyond me.
In fact one member of the party of three told the waitress that we were there before his party.

I am not sure that I will attempt to eat at this restaurant again.

My friend suggested a new restaurant in Leland for our monthly lunch. I’m always up for something new so we went to New Day Cafe in Waterford, Leland, North Carolina. I had a challenging time getting into the parking lot as GPS said where to turn but obviously I was going against. The flow of traffic, made me a few minutes late and a little embarrassed to be going down the wrong lane in the parking lot, it is not a big parking lot. Lot. I was able to get good parking on the side and for a noon lunch. That was a good thing. I do hear that you can often have a line if you come for breakfast or brunch, just FYI. Quite an extensive menu, and list of specials, they serve breakfast and lunch so it was a momentous task to pick what to have. I finally decided on French toast, but which one? The special that was called the s’more French toast or the regular that sounded delicious. So when the waitress came after I had time to study the menu, I asked you which one would be better and she steered me towards the everyday french toast, as the other one is a little hard to eat. She said It tastes excellent but it has marshmallow in it which makes it a challenge to consume. I didn’t have a beverage. I stuck with water, the place was definitely full, but it wasn’t loud. It was a nice environment. My friend ordered like a spicy egg fajita type bowl and she loved it, she doesn’t even look at the menu anymore because it’s her favorite thing to get there. Both of our meals were delicious and I have posted pictures of both of them. They were nice-sized portions. If you’re hungry, you easily didn’t need to take home a doggy bag, but if you’re trying to watch it, I took half mine home. The price wasn’t terrible. You know right now there’s a lot of sticker shot on the prices that restaurants are charging, well, not cheap, it was not expensive. It felt like they were right on the money. You don’t have to get dressed up to go here, and I think you will be pleasantly surprised by how good the food is.

I’ve been coming here for breakfast for months and always had great service—until today. The restaurant has a mix of seating: 2 circle tables, 3 two-tops, and the rest are booths or four-tops. There were two of us, and we had already been waiting about 15 minutes when a couple with two small children came in. Within about 5 minutes their buzzer went off and they were seated, even though we had been waiting much longer.

I went to the hostess stand and asked why they were seated before us. The young girl handling the wait list told me that larger parties get seated quicker. That didn’t make sense, since the tables available could just as easily seat two—there were already multiple two-tops occupied when we arrived.

While we were eating, I noticed the same thing happen again. Two other parties walked in, and were seated right away when the dining room opened up—while other waiting parties were skipped over.

It’s frustrating to see the wait list handled so unfairly. Someone needs to teach the staff how to manage seating properly, because this was definitely not the great service I’ve come to expect here.

JC was our waiter, great service- 5 starts to him!

This might be the best breakfast café on THE WHOLE DAMN PLANET. I have noticed, the secret is out. They seem to be getting MORE & MORE busy, as word of mouth spreads. They weigh in with a 4.9 in Google reviews. That should speak volumes in this day and age. My brother loves the place……. but I had my doubts. NOW I’M a BELIEVER!!!!!! Best DAMN food on the WHOLE PLANET. This wonderful place, in front of the WaterFord community in Leland. Near Harris Teeter.

Here’s the intelligent guide to reviews. 1. Food quality. 2. Cleanliness. 3. Service. & 4. Bang for the buck. Their 5 star review is totally, absolutely, most sincerely……. JUSTIFIED!!!

I’ve been to the restaurant several times, before writing this review. The restaurant is NOT, hit and miss. I had an Omelette with Swiss cheese, ham and jalapeño, on one day, and an old time favorite the next time(pancakes). My daughter had the All American breakfast. My brother has ordered several different things on many different occasions. Monté Cristo, Meatloaf Benedict. French Toasts, ALL ….. absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! “NO CAPTAIN AMERICAN”. You really don’t understand……. Stop leaving reviews……. Idiot!!!!!
