Great little restaraunt in the tiny town of St. Matthews. I called in an order at 10pm on a Saturday night. Arrived at 10:20pm and was the only one there. Appears to be a lovely couple running the restaurant. I received my order of a Kung Bo Chicken combination w/ fried rice and I also got 2 egg rolls and a can of Coke. I drove back about 20 min and the food was still very hot. The egg rolls had a crisp outer layer with fresh vegetables inside. The fried rice was excellent! In came in the same dish as my Kung Bo and I ended up mixing it all together but before I did I tried it plain and it was seasoned well, had nice size chucks of meat that I believe was pork. I was eating it too fast to stop and actually see what it was. I will definitely return just for that alone. My Kung Bo Chicked had an excellent meat to vegetable ratio. Lots of chicken with lots of fresh vibrant flavored celery that was crisp and added a texture that contrasted the chicken and it’s flavor perfectly. The chicken was soft and tender. At first I expected it to be the cheap gristle/tendon filled chicken but not a single piece had any of that. The peanuts were also very fresh tasting.
Overall a great dinner with an excellent portion for the price. Its a tiny little place thats easy to miss, but if you are ever out in small town South Carolina and want a great chinese meal, I recommend stopping in!

Very good food and the service was very polite and very quick. Food reminded me of Chinese food from my home of NYC. I will return again. Worth the 20 min trip.

We eat here regularly. They’re always nice and the food is hot and fresh. They stay open later than anyone else in our small town, and, with our family owning a business that also stays open late, it’s very convenient.

A neighbor told me about this NewChina restaurant for Chinese food. It is some of the best Chinese food I have had since I have been in South Carolina Calhoun county. I highly recommend you trying their food if you’ve been traveling out to Orangeburg. Everything has been terrific and I give them five stars. 710 North F.R Drive St. Matthews SC 29135

The cashier was very disrespectful. I asked for extra duck sauce and she refused. Then said 50 cent for extra sauce, I said ok and pulled out my card. She refused my payment and said only cash. I just paid with card and it was all I had at the time. Will not return. They don’t value their black customers.

This place is your average small town Chinese takeout joint. There’s nothing “wonderful” about it but all the locals love it BC there’s not much else to chose from except a Hardee’s. So that’s that pretty much.
