This was my second time ordering through DoorDash. The first order arrived quickly but with food spillage due to packaging, which I initially attributed to delivery handling.
During my most recent order, the Dasher did not follow the delivery instructions despite the correct address being listed. I attempted to contact the Dasher multiple times through the app, searched my building using the delivery photo, and was unable to locate the order.
DoorDash then offered the standard resolution options: a refund or a replacement. I selected a replacement because I was hungry and simply wanted the order completed. Shortly after, the restaurant cancelled the replacement order and ended the chat. A brief message from the owner questioned why I reordered, and the conversation was closed before I could respond.
I called the restaurant directly to explain the situation. To be fair, the staff I spoke with were polite, apologetic, and professional. However, when the owner contacted me, the conversation became tense. She declined both a replacement and refund and stated that I would need to pay again, despite DoorDash’s established process for handling delivery issues.
Ultimately, DoorDash resolved the issue and issued a refund.

For years, Ding How has been our go-to Chinese food take out in the area. But then the unthinkable happened: new ownership. It’s now called Dragon 88, and frankly, we’re not impressed. Our hearts (and stomachs) were broken.
Naturally, our first thought was to return to China Moon. In our house, China Moon is in the “Takeout Hall of Fame”—their food is the gold standard. However, they don’t deliver. And since we are afflicted with a condition known as TL (Terminal Laziness), driving five minutes to pick up food is a physical impossibility.
So there we were, my family and I, wandering a culinary wasteland of mediocre lo mein. We’d tried just about every other spot in town, and they all failed the vibe check.
In what could be called an act of pure desperation, we gambled on New Chen Carry Out. The Verdict? We have a winner! The group barely had their chopsticks out before the compliments started flying. New Chen passed our stringent Chinese food requirements. We have a new “go-to,” and thankfully, we don’t even have to put on pants to get it.
Thank you New Chen, for being faithful to the old ways, and restoring my faith in strip mall takeout shops.
