Just came in for a beer and watch the game. Didn’t expect high end, delicious food! Didn’t go upstairs, younger crowded navigated that way. Outstanding customer service, the wings and mac cheese were amazing. So many house made sauces it was hard to decide on which ones. Alabama white bbq with scorpion seasoning was our favorite. What stole the show was perfect, and I do mean perfect, pork belly appetizer! Next time we’re in town, we will be back!

Fantastic drinks and super cute upstairs space for hanging out! The drink called “chef’s kiss” lived up to its name for sure. It was pretty busy but the service was super quick and the bartenders were nice. One of them even complimented my dress which made me so happy!

Love the new look! Nicely done the drinks are fun and the menu Hawaiian food!! Some dishes I never had and well made. The food is provided on plastic plates however it’s a bar. Totally understandable. Fun. Great selections of beer. Great music. The staff is kind. The food didn’t take long and the prices are right. Parking can be tricky. You just have to get lucky. But totally worth it. Love the roof top. Took my HS son for lunch and then another time for dinner with friends. They can also host private events, something to consider. Not handicap friendly. If you can definitely check it out. Kids okay during the day, I wouldn’t do evenings. Gets crowded and more of a bar scene.

We stopped after work for a bite and a fe drinks. Low crowd so the service was top notch. They have an upstairs and a downstairs but I didnt brave it. Wide selection of beers and the food was awesome. Dont skip the curry poutine fries and their billionaire burger was delicious!

New Amsterdam is an inviting bar and community hub with extraordinary elevated bar food by Cold Friends Kitchen. The taps feature a wide range of local and regional brews (and if you’re in the mood for a cocktail or a glass of wine, those options are available too). My husband and I split an order of juicy, meaty wings slathered in a Gochujang honey mustard sauce. The menu accurately describes the sauce as “tangy, sweet and funky.” The Gochujang adds a spicy, earthy kick to a honey mustard sauce. You can boost the flavor even more with house-made blue cheese or ranch. The ranch dressing has a depth and kick you won’t find in store-bought options and the blue cheese is creamy and smooth. We also split a Billionaire Smashburger: two perfect patties topped with candied bacon, brie, arugula, caramelized onions, and white truffle garlic aioli. Burgers like these can seem gimmicky, but this was complex and balanced, flavorful and indulgent without being overwhelming. The patties had a delicious crust, deep flavor, and provided the perfect base for all those luscious toppings. The burger comes with crispy seasoned fries, which are smoky, spicy, and addictive. You can also upgrade to a side of Mac and cheese, which we’ll have to do next time. The food is genuinely impressive, delicious and inventive. People may stop in for a drink, but they’ll stay for the spectacular food. (The menu includes five different beef burgers as well as a vegetarian option, mac and cheese, poutine, and some intriguing appetizers, plus more than 20 varieties of wings.) Also, if you have questions about the food or beverages, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They’re passionate about their work and about serving their community. New Amsterdam is a fabulous addition to the Pittsburgh gastropub scene.

Won’t be returning. Management should seriously consider addressing how guests are treated. They are completely disrespectful to paying customers.

The heated rooftop was very comfortable and warm. Started slow at 8 but was packed by 9. Didn’t realize there was food until we were about to leave.

Came for my friend’s 24th birthday, but won’t be coming back. Bartender had an attitude and almost snapped my real ID in half. My friend whose birthday it was gave their ID and she immediately said “this is fake” – it was not (reminder: 24 years old). Bartender (manager? not sure) proceeded to hold onto our IDs for an extended period of time while bending and failing to use her scanner. We asked if she needed anything else from us. Received attitude. Drinks and food were bought and enjoyed by us earlier, until staff was so rude we left. Overall poor experience, will not be returning :/

The food was creative and delicious, there was a great drink selection including $5 pumpkin beers, and the bartender was helpful and friendly. What more can you ask for?
