If you are looking for a fine dining experience, this is it! This a hidden gem tucked into small town Wisconsin that uses local ingredients to create a menu that truly lets you enjoy the chef’s vision and passion in each bite. Went for the eight course Valentines Day meal and it was exquisite from start to finish. The ambiance and setting of the restaurant adds to the total experience. Small and intimate, warm and inviting. I absolutely recommend.

Definitely worth the trip! Singlehandedly one of the best spots i have ever gone to eat. Private experience. Excellent food. Localy sourced when available. Its roughly 1-2 hour experience and the wine pairings were on point! Highly recommend this place. The owner dave is such a great guy/chef. I recommend reservations and he also does private events. Hands down one of the best chefs around! Try it out you will love it!

We were so excited for the $140/person dinner. The food was all fine/good, but very much not worth the price. I appreciate that ingredients are locally sourced when possible. Service ran long (3 hours) so our beverage was comped. Staff was friendly and attentive. Nothing was bad (a couple sauces were not great and my mashed potatoes were cold, but not a big deal), but you just expect dishes to be elevated or innovative at that price point. I also should have paid more attention to the posted menu so I’d know what I was eating. It becomes an issue to not be told what a dish is when you aren’t aware that a sauce is very spicy or that a dish contains a major ingredient you’re allergic to. I left thinking that they’d only been open a couple months and were still figuring things out, but it doesn’t look like that’s the case. The chef also apologized for being busy and not stopping by our table. Again, staff was very friendly, but I wish I’d seen a review like this before choosing to make the reservation.

Had an absolutely wonderful experience with the chef’s menu, strongly recommend their wine pairing to go with it. These folks know what they are doing! Every dish skillfully and lovingly crafted. Beautiful local ingredients and wonderful explanation of each course. You’d pay a lot more for this in the city! Figure around $100 plus tip per person. Flavor, atmosphere, variety all exquisite.

I was at Nettie’s Volta tonight and o man! The wine pairing is a must try. That salad with the slightly grilled grapes was on point. Your taste buds are in for a new ride because I don’t understand how people figure out how to put these ingredients together to make masterpieces like what I expirenced tonight. I left full. Again! The wine pairing is a must try add on. to the Chef/Owner The whole expirence was great! Very clean very well put together hidden Gem in Plum City.

We went to Nettie’s Volta on our 10th anniversary. We were in the Plum City area for family Christmas celebrations. I saw the tasting menu beforehand and was intrigued and excited. Despite my excitement going in, the food, wine and experience blew me away! Chef Dave did an incredible job adjusting dishes based on what he and his staff tasted as well as explaining their wine choices. I understand many people aren’t seeking out Plum City but, if you are in the area, want some incredible food (foodies included because even the discerning palate will be pleased!) and a great experience, Nettie’s Volta is the place to go! Very excited that this restaurant is near our extended family so we can visit on a regular basis.

This gem in a tiny town is worth the drive! The atmosphere was cozy and well thought out. The food was elevated, and everyone was raving about their meals.
The service was slower, but they had a server out, and the chef and his son were very attentive, so there were no real complaints there.
We also were not in a hurry and were enjoying the ability to talk and hear one another at our table, so it was perfect for us. Great wine and beer list. We had a party of 6 and oftentimes in a group, we can’t hear each other or we feel rushed. That was not the case at all.
We had apps, entrees, desserts, plus drinks, and we felt the bill was appropriate for the experience. Highly recommend!

A wonderful surprise in the driftless area of Wisconsin in downtown Plum City.

Nestled in a picturesque valley where Plum Creek flows lies a delightful promise of an unforgettable culinary experience with its fusion of flavors and cozy ambiance. My recent visit to this restaurant left me delighted and surprised, and I am excited to share my experience.

Upon entering Nettie’s Volta, we were greeted by warm smiles and a charming décor. The soft lighting and soothing background music set the perfect tone for an evening of indulgence.

As I perused the menu, I was intrigued by the diverse selection of dishes. After much deliberation, we decided to start with the roasted vegetables and grilled olives, which were both perfectly seasoned and presented. The combination of textures and flavors was simply divine, leaving us eager for more. The drink menu had much to select from to satisfy parings with your starters and entree. The chef took the time to answer our numerous questions; it was truly a pleasure to make his acquaintance.

For the main course, I opted for the chef’s special: Rabbit with roasted cauliflower and zucchini. This dish was exceptional. My wife has the 14oz NY strip steak with salmoriglio sauce and roasted baby potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy with a delightful hint of herbs and spices. The sides complemented the dish beautifully, adding depth and richness to every bite. The rest of the table ordered pasta dishes that looked incredible and I heard nothing but accolades about them.

To complete our culinary journey, we along with the other four guest in our party indulged in dessert. We ordered a variety of desserts and were especially delighted by the meringue dish.

My first time trying a seven course meal, and I really want to go there again. The food was the best I’ve tried. Every course had a “wow” factor. Well worth the visit! The waitress was, without a doubt, the most pleasant I’ve met, and she did an excellent job of describing the dishes to me. She is very kind. Also, thank you very much for being so kind to take care of me even with a reservation error. Even though it could have been my fault, you went out of your way to make sure I was able to try something I’ve never experienced before. You made the trip from Rochester a very pleasant experience. Again, thank you!
