Neptune Sandwiches used to be one of my go-to quick lunch spots before they changed ownership several years ago. Since the change, the food quality has decreased significantly. The bread is still delicious and keeps this review from being a one star review. In recent years the cold cut sandwiches have been reduced to a few measly slices of meat and approximately 5 fist fulls of shredded lettuce. Today (2/12/26) I ordered a half chicken salad sandwich with no lettuce. The menu states the chicken salad comes with “a special mixture of chicken salad garnished with mayonnaise, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and Neptune’s special dressing.” What I received was a sandwich full of shredded lettuce, missing tomatoes, and with a *whisper* of chicken salad. After scraping all of the lettuce out of the sandwich, there was essentially no volume remaining. I may as well have been eating mayo-flavored bread. Now, absolutely shame on me for not checking my sandwich before pulling away from the drive-thru (although I did check the sticker on the sandwich to confirm that it stated “NO LETTUCE”.) But shame on Neptune Sandwiches for sacrificing quality in the name of an ownership change and an over-expanded menu. Keep doing what you’re doing with the bread, but please reconsider your service and food quality.

I remember back in the late 1970s or early 1980s when Neptune’s had a location in Edmond. I was an occasional customer. This was before Subway and the other big chains came along. I always thought their subs were just okay—not bad, but nothing special.
Having moved here from New England, I was used to really good subs, so Neptune’s never quite measured up.
I stopped by the Classen location yesterday—I believe it’s the original spot. I liked the vibe, and the price was reasonable at $4.99 for what I think was a six-inch sub. And the taste? Exactly the same as it was 40 years ago. Just okay.

Heard a lot about this place, but feel it’s average & only popular due to its historical reputation. Meat quality was sub par for the reviews they have. Great bread, but the rest of the sandwich (Old Italian) was underwhelming. Supreme sub was the better sandwich.

Ok, so I love when service is amazing. The service at this place, outstanding and that’s the 1st thing that needs to be recognized. The young lady who waited on me was exceptional, extremely friendly and helpful. She was busy doing multiple things at once and still managed to be so nice.
The sub sandwich was great. Loved the flavors of the sandwich. The bacon – perfect level of crisp, not gummy or chewy at all. The bread is so soft, you could eat the bread alone.
Definitely recommend stopping here if ever in the area.

This place has really not changed in many years in decor and it has a dining room full of people and also the drive thru is full.
Fresh food. Friendly faces. Good recipes!

Was a pretty good sandwich for a decent price. My fiancee and I are for under $20. Would come back again!

This is my go to local sandwich shop! Been going here for years. My regular order is a Deluxe with some Frito Chili Pie and some chocolate chip cookies. The bread is so soft and delicious. The flavors here are so consistent. It has a convenient drive thru for those on the go!

My Dad 1st brought me here when I was a little girl, he was excited to show us his Favorite place to eat, and now 15+ years later I’m continuing the tradition by showing my kids what a great place this is, they haven’t been around this long for nothing!!!

I work near this location and having been coming here for years for lunch. I love their sandwiches, especially the bread. The banana pudding is sooo good! I will say the service can be slow and inconsistent with the drive-thru window, sometimes I’m in and out sometimes, like today, it takes close to 30 minutes to get through. Doesn’t keep me from going back, but just be prepared if you plan on going during lunch

Not quite the same w/new ownership. Smaller sandwiches, meat on torpedo felt/looked “pressed” not fresh deli. Egg salad sandwhich NOT made the same, yuck! Super meatball sub tasty just small, barely 4″? Wait time at drive thru, only car, was over 5 min (3 cars out front?). Cashier pleasant, efficient.
Will go a 3rd time to see if any different then decide if no longer for our family.
