Lines form for the raw bar & warm, buttered lobster rolls at this tiny, high-end oyster bar.

Busy and absolutely worth the wait. We had to line up and the space is small and packed, but the energy makes it part of the charm. The food is outstanding, especially the seafood plateau — fresh, generous, and beautifully presented. A true Boston classic.

Finally made it through the line and ate here – actually I went at 2:00 in the afternoon on a cold Tuesday and I walked right in and ate at the bar.
The service was great, and it’s a fast moving, lively, small place. I had oysters which were s fresh and good as any I’ve had. I went for a lobster roll and it was also great. Prices were typical North End.. can’t wait to go back for a real dinner.

We lined up 40 minutes prior to opening time in cold morning. But this place was good sat on the bar , our server was polite, fast, friendly. I love their lobster bisque, it has good spices than regular bisque. The lobster roll is generous size and delicious. Ordered some little neck clams, Neptune oysters , delish and fresh! Also tried their special crudo tartare of the day: veal and tuna

Whatever you do, make sure you order the Neptune Johnnycake and add lobster! Oysters were so fresh, juicy and perfectly briny. Lobster roll was a huge portion, and we’ve had our fill of lobster rolls on this trip but this one was the best. It can get a little noisy, depending on who you ger seated next to since it’s a tight space. Overall, would def come just for the johnnycake next time we are in Boston.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super Fresh Oysters & Great Pasta
Neptune Oyster truly lives up to its reputation. The oysters were super fresh and juicy, and I loved the house condiments — especially the tomato + mustard combination, which worked surprisingly well.
The Katana Bay oysters were the standout for me — easily the best on the plate.
We also ordered the lobster tomato spaghetti, which was very tasty and comforting.
I really liked how the oysters were beautifully displayed on ice, making everything look fresh and well cared for. Overall, a great experience and a must-visit for oyster lovers.

We waited around 15 min, and the queue got super long after. The oysters are a must, I loved how they have a list of oysters and clams and their taste profile so you can choose which one would you like to try. The price is reasonable and there’s so much variety. The razor clam is flavourful, and lobster roll is fresh and warm with juicy meat. The lobster seems to lack a bit of taste, which might be just our luck. Fries are great. The calamari is not particularly great or boring, but for the price point I expected more flavour with the batter and sweet squid. When it’s special for the night and not in the menu, make sure to ask for price so you don’t get a shock at payment.

Excellent restaurant where most of the time you will need to wait. Recommend come in twos so you have more chance to getting seated, large party will normally need to wait longer. Loved the Johnnycake , hot lobster rolls and Naptune pearl oysters

Hands down, arguably the best seafood restaurant in Boston! Super fresh, generous portions! I usually go for the lobster roll, but the sea bass, lobster spaghetti (omg I’m still dreaming about this one), uni toast, raw oysters are all divine! Everything tastes like the ocean, everything is perfectly cooked. Super friendly service – shoutout to Jillian that really made our day! The only negative? No Rez… first come, first serve (which is really democratic…), so go early and try to snag a table! Your patience will be rewarded!

Neptune Oyster is a good place, but it definitely comes with a lot of hype. I can say the oysters are worth it and are clearly the highlight of the menu. The rest of the food is good, but nothing particularly spectacular or memorable. The place itself is very small, so be prepared to wait in line. We arrived around 12:00 and ended up waiting about 1 hour and 15 minutes for a table for six people. The lobster roll, which is one of their most popular items, was honestly not the best. Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re really into oysters, but managing expectations and planning for the wait is important.

It is a legendary eatery in Boston, and the food and ambiance clearly show how it rose to the title. The oysters are definitely a must, they have got an extensive ordering sheet complete with the flavour profiles of each oyster which they selected and shucked to perfection. Also don’t forget to get the giant clams that were juicy and tasty.
I really liked all the other food too, they have a daily special that changes all the time and whilst we were here we had the clams pasta which was just delicious.
Don’t be afraid of the crowd, you are in for a treat.
