Reviews
From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home.
As for the menu? Everything we ordered was delicious, and the drinks were expertly crafted. We’re already planning our next trip back because there are so many other dishes we need to try.
Plus there’s plenty of space and a fun playground for little ones to run around. Great space for families and large groups as well.
We had the queso (yum), the kale salad, the briscuit salad (my favorite), the burger, the street corn (OMG), and we tried several of their amazing meats. Everything tasted amazing.
Not only was the food great, but you look around, and live music is playing, kids are running around on the playground and basketball court, parents are relaxing with their drinks catching up with their friends (because their kids are busy), and everyone was smiling. Such a good time here, and I’m so excited for this place. It will be a consistent stop everytime we are in Wimberley.
Great job with this concept to all the partners and anyone else who was responsbile for this vision. Now if you could come to Katy, Texas? Pretty Please?
We are Locals that haven’t been back to this place since it was a Pizza joint owned by the NFL Player.. So totally reformed venue, which was nice. If we had kids or they had a live band, we would have likely given it a 5… Breezy cool day, (it needs more fire pits).
Honest review:
The Food: Brisket was over-sauced and dry. Was MEH at best.
The wings were good, a little over spiced but good. But also they were small and all wings (no legs). The Loaded Queso was good, very flavorful, but the meat chunk were THAT, huge chunks, not split up, it was hard to eat it.
The Drinks: The Old Fashion (my test of a bar) was a 0.5 out of 5. The mix was on tap and totally UN-flavorful. The wine was very limited selection and just OK. Definitely a beer bar.
The Service: Was decent, the bar staff was enthusiastic (which is hard to find now days), the wait staff walking around were just OK. They seemed put out when we didn’t order more.
We might go back at Happy Hour (if they have one) with a live band, but otherwise, its just MEH…. Unless you have kids you want to let run wild and burn some wiggles…. then you might want to go (the play area is this venue’s biggest plus).
Service was mediocre. Not terrible, but not memorable or attentive either. At the end of the day, it feels like you’re paying for the environment rather than the food or service. If you’re coming to hang out and let kids enjoy the space, it works. If you’re coming for a good meal, expectations should be lowered.
They had kid menu options, and a huge area for them to play. We had tables in the shade and it was. Great patio weather day. It’s nice to celebrate a child without having to go to a place built only for kids. I got to have a margarita in the shade while she jumped her heart out. 10/10!
The food and drinks were excellent, this is our 3rd time to dine at Neon Armadillo and we’ll definitely be back!
The restaurant is very stylish and great for families!
We got that little queso in a to go bowl, pulled pork dumped on a cookie sheet like pan. Too much ice in this expensive regular margarita and giant ice cube that almost took the whole glass in the Mexican coffee.
You have to order at the bar and get your own silverware and water.
Almost $60 with tip.
The menu is very limited. It’s a beautiful place and the service was good.
But could we not get a real bowl with that expensive queso? A plate or bowl for the pulled pork?
Look at the picture. What does it look like? Very unappetizing.
