The place smelled horribly of chemicals ie insecticide when I arrived. I was hoping to find another good Asian restaurant near me, no such luck. First off the vege “egg rolls” are smaller than spring rolls for 7 bucks cis and soggy. The Calamari was mushy as far as batter and definitely not good…..smelled bad. (Go to Fan Tang for Calamari! Super good!) The black bean chicken is ok and they have not gave me one pack of soy sauce, I’d asked if it was a n the to go bag and they said yes there are sauces in the bag….. one. Epic fail for this place…. I’ll definitely not go back and recommend others to not even try it. Panda Express is head and shoulders better and that place is MEH!

We ordered the General Tso and Beef and Broccoli.
The food came in the FLIMSIEST styrofoam containers and the food was so hot it MELTED THE STYROFOAM onto the food leaving the food tasting of chemicals and PLASTIC!!!
The food was already mediocre at best, but the “meals” we recieved were simply inedible. DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT STYROFOAM WITH A SIDE OF RICE.

Where to start…

It was our first time visiting ABQ, and since it was Thanksgiving, almost everything was closed. I researched which places were open and made a few calls before choosing this restaurant because we love spicy food and the ratings seemed decent.

The moment we walked in, the place felt chaotic. A young waiter ran outside to chase a customer about their takeout order, and another customer was loudly called back after he had already walked out with his food. Not a great start.

We seated ourselves because no one greeted us. After ordering, I went to the restroom and the toilet seat was nearly falling off, and the soap was completely watered down.

Our drinks arrived, then the appetizers. I ordered steamed dumplings, but we were served fried ones. The young waiter apologized and said he’d fix it, but came back saying the boss lady refused to take them back, insisting fried dumplings were “very popular” and that we needed to keep them. We politely insisted on the steamed dumplings, and she was clearly unhappy and there was shouting coming from the kitchen.

Another group later ordered fried dumplings and were surprised at how quickly theirs came out. I couldn’t help but wonder if they were given the dumplings we had rejected (though I can only assume).

Then the boss lady delivered my entrée to the wrong table. When those customers said it wasn’t theirs, she yelled at the waiter asking who it was for, and he pointed to us.

When we finished and got the check, we noticed an overcharge for rice ($3.95) instead of the $2.50 listed on the menu. They also added an automatic 18% gratuity even though it was just the two of us, and the menu clearly states that gratuity only applies to groups of 6+. Our total was over $90. When we questioned it, the waiter said the boss lady added the gratuity because it was Thanksgiving.

We politely asked to remove the 18% and correct the rice. He returned with a new receipt that removed the gratuity but still didn’t fix the rice. Instead, they added a separate “custom order of $2.50” while keeping the $3.95 charge. I went to the front again to have it corrected, and the boss lady looked annoyed, mumbling about Thanksgiving as she rudely handed the receipt back.

We paid and left.

It’s disappointing to be charged an 18% gratuity simply because it was “Thanksgiving.” Not everyone celebrates it, and it felt unfair and unprofessional.

Food: 6/10 (too salty)
Service: 0/10 (rude and unprofessional)

A very nice cozy restaurant, very clean, service was great nice and attentive. Food was great, hot and authentic flavors. Their twice cook pork with cabbage was delicious fresh cooked and it didn’t took long time to be served, Kung Pao Chicken was amazing The flavors were well balanced also there was enough peanuts and spices very delicious. Overall great place to go eat there or to take out.

I think a lot of my review is subjective so be forewarned.

Overall the proportions are big enough for 2 days worth of food which helps stomach the price. I think its a tad too expensive but I’m not mad about it.

The General Tso chicken veered more on the spicy side than the usual thick tang that it normally has. After eating half the takeout plate the spice got old to me taste-wise, would have rathered the usual thick sauce but I respect that this is probably a house recipe.

The fried rice was delicious and my wife enjoyed the walnut shrimp and crab rangoons.

The bag that came with my meal broke on the walk home because it was stuffed with both meals. An additional bag would have been no inconvenience to me.

Delicious and authentic Chinese cuisine! I didn’t take pictures of all the dishes I enjoyed but this is a great restaurant for eating with family or friends. Good portion sizes and amazing flavor. Pictured is the “spicy boiled fish filet” (水煮鱼片) which was savory and mouth-watering spicy, paired well with rice. Other dishes I recommend are the roast duck and the salt and pepper shrimp. Prices may appear higher, but the quality holds up. I recommend coming here if you want to try more authentic Szechuan style cuisine in Albuquerque!

If I could give this place negative stars I would. We made a reservation for Christmas at 4:30 pm for 14. We called multiple times to confirm the reservation and were told all was good. We got to the restaurant on time and sat in the back room and were promptly forgotten. We didn’t get to even order water for 30 minutes. After another 20 minutes we got our drinks but still had not been able to order. We went to talk to the front counter multiple times and were ignored. We asked the gentleman who brought us our drinks and were given a lot of excuses such as they don’t take reservations, and then were told that it would be another hour before we would even get our food. My husband and I went up to talk to the manager and she was NASTY. She pushed the server out of the kitchen after yanking him back by his shirt collar, then came up to the counter and began yelling at us.

While we were waiting they served multiple tables who came in after us AND took multiple take out and delivery service orders. They didn’t check on us, they didn’t even seem to care when we left.

The tables were dirty and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a while. The backroom smelled like fish, and there was a flashing light in the corner of the room…

Overall, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant ever. DO NOT GO HERE.

Wow was this good. And we ate as a big group in their room with 2 big round tables and lazy Susan’s to pass a myriad of wonderful cooking. Smoked duck, sweet duck, cold smoked fish, cabbage with pork, string beans w a bit of pork, crispy sweet and sour chicken. I may have missed something! It was all really good 🙂

Delicious food! Truly the best Chinese food I’ve had in all of Albuquerque. The vegetables taste super fresh and the dishes are so flavorful! The spice is PERFECTION. I had to order double the amount of fried rice just to make sure I had leftovers. I highly recommend. Service was excellent and restaurant was clean and quiet. The wonton soup was so fresh and the vegetables were perfectly cooked. The soup broth was so soothing. Portion sizes are GENEROUS, so it’s the perfect spot for sharing. Mongolian beef and lo mein were also fantastic. Have to check this place out and support local!!

Very good food! The couple that own the restaurant were very friendly. I ordered the hot and sour soup and it was very good and fresh and had some nice heat to it, very large portion and definitely can be shared and seeing I was alone, I took the rest home. I also ordered general tao’s chicken and it was fresh and didn’t have that thick batter and the sauce was very flavorful. I will definitely go back! The service and food were both very good! Check it out I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
