The staff was friendly, but the service felt very hands-off. When I came in, there was only me, one other table, and two guys at the bar, so it wasn’t busy at all. One guy sat me down and got me my Pepsi and he was super friendly, but after that, I never saw him again.
The waitress mostly stayed behind the bar and didn’t really check in at the table. There wasn’t much interaction once I was seated.
The pizza was okay but pretty bland. Not much flavor, and it could’ve been cooked a little longer. I’m also not a big fan of oven-baked French fries, but that’s just personal preference. To each their own.
This place would probably be good if you’re hammered and don’t want to be consistently bothered, because they won’t check up on you much or interrupt your night. Overall, it was an average experience with some potential if the service and food were dialed in a bit more.

Love Nellos. This location is closed on Mondays lol. This location is on Alma school Road. I love the 1299 lunch special comes with a salad and a personal pizza and a drink. I feel like this location has been here 30 years!

Delicious homemade Italian food, excellent flavor, and a good example of deep dish cuisine in the Phoenix Valley. The Original Margherita pizza was my choice, and it was very good. The staff was very attentive. The furniture could use an upgrade soon.

Love this place. Went there again last night. By far my favorite pizza place. The sauce the bread omg it is great. I was full and I had to eat 1 more piece just because of how good the flavor is. Usually I don’t do that. Service was good waitress did our order correct. And all the food came out pretty quick. I love Nello’s wish there was one in Scottsdale closer to me. But going out to Mesa/chandler is worth the drive.

Home away from home! If you’re looking for a family restaurant/bar Nello’s is the place! Think of the show Cheers where “Everybody knows your name”. AMAZING team of hard workers!!! Welcoming, personable and accommodating and the food is delicious! Great selection of adult beverages! Good times!

It’s been a few years since we’ve been to Nellos as we moved farther East and it’s no longer convenient. I have to say it’s still decent, but had definitely lost a couple of stars. I used to love their mushroom and sausage pizza. Their once-amazing homemade sausage topping is now flavorless. Same with their sauce. Tastes like it came out of a can. There is literally more flavor in chain pizzas I occasionally am forced to eat. Good news is the house salad dressing is still the best. The Antipasto salad was still hearty and my son-in-law liked his Italian beef sandwich. But that pizza was an embarrassment to my memory

Food is always good. The oizza is excellent if you like Chicago style pizza. The sandwiches are decent as well. Service was good. The atmosphere is a bit dated. The bathrooms could use some TLC. The patio is nice. I’ll be back for sure.

Got two pizzas for takeout. The deep dish crust is has no flavor or crunch. The thin crust is like eating a cracker. Toppings were good, but the sauce also lacked flavor. The two stars are for the toppings.

I absolutely love Nello’s! I’ve been here a handful of times since childhood, and most recently with my husband! ♥️ Every time I come in it has a cozy neighborhood pizza place vibe that’s super inviting and comfortable. The servers are always so kind too! Once you place your order it might take a minute to get your food, but it will ALWAYS come out piping hot and delicious! It’s always a pleasure to visit Nello’s, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some good pizza (they have sandwiches as well, but I’ve personally never tried them so I can’t comment on the quality)! It can be dimly lit inside at night so be sure to bring your readers/glasses if you need them! lol

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Nello’s Pizza (Chandler, AZ)

First time at Nello’s — a few friends invited me out for a work chat and told me this place was amazing. They ordered a veggie pizza, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. I figured I’d stick with lasagna.

Lasagna was solid — great flavor and perfectly baked — but that pizza stole the show. Whatever combination of veggies they’ve got piled on that thing was unbelievable. I’m talking mountain of toppings, perfectly balanced, and loaded with flavor.

Now, I lived in Chicago for 16 years, so I’ll admit — I’m a bit of a pizza snob. But for a pizza pie in Phoenix (well, Chandler in this case), this one absolutely impressed me. Five stars, no question. Great food, good atmosphere, and a spot I’m definitely coming back to.
