Wow!! Never expected to find food this good on the roadside in a small Texas town. I was curious about the German name on a Mexican Restaurant but the reviews were good so I gave it a try.. We were greeted by Tano, who was very friendly and welcoming. We told him we were camping at Lake Somerville Birch Creek and he was very helpful. Menu was extensive , from breakfast all day to grilled items, senior and kid’s sections and Mexican favorites. Chips and salsa were delivered immediately. Tasty salsa and good chips. We lived in Phoenix for many years and visited Mexico many times so we have a good understanding of Mexican food. Stacey waited on us and they let us the onion rings were homemade. We ordered them as an appetizer bc who doesn’t like good onion rings? They were perfect, lightly battered and cooked to perfection
Reminded us on onion rings at Bo’s in Key West. Not the sad kind full of breading that you bite into and the whole onion slides out. These were great! I had a beef chimichanga that was crisp and loaded with steak, covered with guacamole and perfectly delicious. Will definitely return when in the area and highly for a good meal at a reasonable price. Nice pour on wine as well.

Food was ok service not so much. Only gave us two menus when seating 4 people,I had to go get two more menus because she never came back.waited for my plate after everyone else was eating, after we got our food never seen the waiter again. Glad we didn’t need anything like more coffee and more drinks. Gave this place a try won’t be back.

Great place to stop and grab a quick bite to eat inside, outside or to go. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Restaurant was clean and roomy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone said the chicken fried steak was the best, it was good, but I enjoyed #9 skirt steak rice and beans.

Went here this past weekend with my girlfriend and it’s worth the 20 mile drive from College Station. The enchiladas were great, I had the combination (cheese, chicken, beef) in gravy and it left little to be desired. My girlfriends food was the star of the show… they really do have some of the best chicken fried steak around, and the onion rings were perfect, sweet & breaded. The mashed potatoes were the weakest part of the plate but that might just be because what they were paired with. Service was fast, very polite and attentive. The atmosphere is small town bar but the food more than made up for that.

Stopped in after church, this is one of our go to places when in the Somerville area. The food is great and they offer a variety of seafood, American food and Mexican food. If you don’t stop, your loss.

Driven by twice in the morning and parking lot has been full each time. So I finally had to take my chances in this small / blink and you’ll miss it town. Food was good, must be patient, it is not a Buc-ee’s Formula 1 Pit Stop. Food was really good and I will go back, just make sure the parking lot is half full or you have 45 minutes to relax. Lunch is a buffet, 2 plate limit – will try that another day.

This is a must stop and try if you are in the area. Great atmosphere! The staff was friendly and happy. I know happy employees? It showed in the attitude and very much appreciated. Our party ordered the Mexican chicken fried steak. It looked amazing. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, and they were very good. My wife had a perfectly cooked medium rare burger. The onion rings were lightly battered and really good. Again this is a must stop if in the area.

I ordered nachos which came with a very good amount of chicken, beans, pico, cheese, etc. It was delicious and a lot of food. Couldn’t finish it so I took leftovers with me. My friend ordered a burger and fries. She said it was good. She asked for water but she was given sweet tea and water never came. They seemed to be short staffed as we waited a bit upon arrival. Once we got our food we didn’t see the waitress again. It’s a fairly large place with plenty of seating. They serve buffet and menu items. We went with the menu items. Coffee was good. The waitress did tell us that food would take a while as meats are freshly cooked not precooked. We were fine with that. Reasonable prices. We were able to park in front, so parking at lunchtime may be an issue.
