Neil’s Tavern is a Bangkok institution that perfectly captures the “old-school” steakhouse experience. With its well-maintained vintage vibes, dark wood interiors, and a cozy, Swiss-tavern aesthetic, it feels like a timeless escape from the city.

Why it’s a must-visit:
• The Steaks: They truly know what they do best. The steaks are charcoal-grilled to perfection—expertly seasoned and consistently cooked.
• Top-Tier Service: The staff is professional and attentive, providing the kind of polished service you only find in established classics.
• Don’t Miss: Pair your meal with their famous truffle mushroom soup, and be sure to visit their Bake Shoppe next door for a slice of their legendary chocolate cake.

It’s the perfect spot for a quiet, high-quality dinner where the focus is entirely on great meat and classic hospitality.

I am a solo traveler coming to enjoy a nice dinner. As soon as I got here I was immediately seated and was able to get a drink. After 30 mins of waiting they finally asked me what I would like for dinner. The only reason why they came was because another person who was eating with family noticed that no one came by to serve me. So I thank him for that. The restaurant looks nice but the service so far is horrible. I’ll update my review once I receive my food.

Update: Once the staff finally noticed me the service became better. I ordered the lobster bisque and the waygu T-bone steak. The lobster bisque was just okay. It needed a little bit more seasoning. The T-bone was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Outside of forgetting about me for a while the restaurant as a whole was nice.

I will give this restaurant a 3.5/5 only because service is really big to me. If it wasn’t for the service I would’ve rated them a 4.6/5.

The short rib was fall off the bone tender! Staff was excellent and very accommodating. The truffle sirloin was th best I’ve had in years and do not get me started with the porkchop. I love that the lobster bisque actually has lobster in it. Very very very delicious. This place was so good I went back multiple times! Oh and the drinks were very good too. A must visit restaurant.

A high-quality restaurant offering premium steaks at a higher price point but with excellent quality. The tiger prawns are exceptional — fresh, juicy, and flavorful. Other dishes are also enjoyable, but my all-time favorite is the cake, which is absolutely delicious. The service is warm, attentive, and full of hospitality. Moreover, the atmosphere is lovely, decorated with charming vintage collections that make the place feel special. Highly recommended!

Truly legendary, Neil’s Tavern never disappoints. The beautiful, classic ambience sets the tone for an exceptional meal. The service is excellent—attentive, professional, and genuinely warm, making the whole experience feel special from start to finish.

Highly recommend the Truffle Steak (perfectly cooked and wonderfully fragrant), the Baked Scallop (rich and flavorful), and the Miso Snowfish (melt-in-your-mouth perfection). Every dish shows great attention to detail and consistent quality.

I ordered their signature cakes both looked too good to resist!
The Viennese Chocolate Cake was light and creamy with the perfect balance of chocolate and coffee flavor, while the Neil’s Tavern Signature Cake had a rich, nutty layer that paired beautifully with the chocolate ganache on top.

The presentation was elegant, and you can really taste the quality ingredients in every bite. Perfect for anyone who loves classic, refined desserts.

Definitely one of the best bakery stops in Bangkok for a cozy treat with coffee!

This steakhouse is a classic, having been around for a long time. The menu remains largely unchanged, with the occasional seasonal additions. While the meat quality isn’t top-tier, it’s certainly good, and it’s cooked exactly to order. The bread, butter, salad, and dressings are decent but a little uninspired. The side dishes are classic steakhouse fare and not bad.
The steak in the lunch set is notably small. While the price is reasonable, I expected more from a steakhouse. I’m glad I ordered from the regular menu, as I got a decent-sized piece of steak. The house wines are also quite nice.
The atmosphere is consistently dark, dim, and cozy, offering a sense of privacy. Parking can be a challenge, but valet service is available. Overall, it’s not a bad spot; it’s the kind of place where you know exactly what you’re going to get.

Neil’s is trapped in time which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The look and feel of this steakhouse is straight out of 1972, full of old school atmosphere. However, the quality of food and level of service doesn’t live up the price of the meal.

The appetizer of French onion soup was lacking in flavor. Two of our four premium steaks weren’t cooked to the desired temperature of doneness. While my ribeye steak was cooked perfectly, it was lacking in marbling and flavor. It was also not very tender which made me question it’s labeling of USDA Prime.

The included baked potatoes and steamed broccoli were also uninspired. The cocktail I had was also not very good. All in all a very average meal for an above average bill. High expectations led to a disappointing experience.
