The Special for the day was Hot Honey Crispy Chicken with a side of French Fries.
The picture doesn’t do the fries justice, they were hot, crispy and lightly salted. This is the way fries should be, not a mushy limp fry on my plate.
The hot honey came in a small ramekin in the side, so I could add as much or as little as I wanted to my sandwich. The buns had been toasted and were crispy on the insides. A couple of onion slices, a slice of tomato, some sliced pickles and some shredded lettuce surrounded a generous piece of breaded fried chicken. The chicken was hot and tasty.
We got there just before the evening crowd, most of them were locals as the waitress seemed to recognize them. We were served quickly and our waitress checked on us regularly.
We’re going to be in the area for a few more days, odds are good we might try this place again. It’s in a small town and the other options are sparse, I’m glad that this place took pains to do things right instead of just assuming that they have no competition and let teur standards slide as a result

One word yummy . Great staff awesome food. prices are great. The maple waffle fries are an amazing addition to any meal as are the onion rings.

Great stop for good food! Had a small town friendly atmosphere. Wasn’t extremely hungry so we ordered an appetizer of cheese curds and shared a burger with onion rings. Instead of giving us an extra plate they split it for us nicely on two plates- much appreciated! Chef has great experience and will bring great things to Verdigre, be sure to support them!!

Driving from OKC to Huron South Dakota and found this gem in northern Nebraska. The fried mushrooms were delicious and the burgers and fries were as well. Fries had that perfect balance of crunch and soft that hit the spot. Stop in if you find yourself between rows of corn in Nebraska, worth the stop.

The fried mushrooms were good, I don’t think you can really mess those up. The jalapeño poppers weee great. And the maple waffle fries are something I had not tried before, and will definitely have again. But as good as all the food we had up to that point was, the ribeye absolutely stole the show. To the point that my wife, 4 hours later, continued to bring up how good the ribeye was. We eat steak a lot, at many different establishments. But this, this was a steak to come back for. We will 100% go out of our way to come back.

We visited these folks memorial day weekend. Such good food. We enjoyed visiting with the owners who were super friendly and provided great service. The fries were a knockout! Keep up the good work.

Always really good ranch and food! When we don’t feel like cooking, we get takeout from Nebraska ranch house! A few times, we dined there and brought our baby in a wagon, and they were really nice about it!
