We were welcomed to seat ourselves and greeted quickly by a very friendly and attentive server. Within just a few minutes, we had drinks and our orders in. I went with the fried squash and mashed potatoes with brown gravy for my sides.
Our meals arrived in about 8–10 minutes and everything looked great on the plate. But as we all know, looks can be deceiving. Unfortunately, that was the case here. The catfish turned out to be Swai — lightly seasoned and cooked well, but lacking flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy were just okay, and the fried squash didn’t seem to have any seasoning at all.
While the service and atmosphere were both solid, the food just didn’t deliver for me. It’s not something I’d likely return for.

My waitress ensured my coffee cup was never empty. Sheila is excellent.
I enjoyed my visit and will definitely return. I encourage anyone looking for a wonderful family atmosphere, offering delicious entrees. Come try this place out!
First off, friendly staff. Made you feel like a long lost friends.
Second. Server was really helpful with our menu choices. Then went to the next level to provide the best service ever. We both ordered fried Jalapeños. So they fried those first and brought it out as a sort of appetizer. Best ones I’ve ever eaten hands down.
Third. Both meals were scrumptious. In fact I’m eating their leftovers as I type this.
My friend said he’d come back for a weekend visit just to eat here. He lives in Kansas City, MO. If that’s not a declaration of love; I don’t know what would be.
The server even removed my plate before I was finished eating trying to rush us out when they didn’t close for 30 more minutes.
**Edit. I wish I had taken photos, but I didn’t because the food was so bad. The chicken fried steak was so small and tasted like it was fried in the oldest oil.
The owner replied that the mashed potatoes are peeled every day. Well congratulations, because you’ve managed to make real potatoes taste like instant mashed potatoes. You must be doing something right!
I would have loved to have given this place a great review but it was not great and the portions were quite small.
I also had the chocolate pie and was very disappointed
