This no-frills eatery was simple, fast, and good food for the value! Our waitress was sweet and checked on us periodically. Hubby asked about beer or wine, which they have neither. She did say we could bring our own bottle, but we opted for sweet tea. I wanted to try their fried green tomatoes, gumbeaux (their spelling), and cheesy grits – Hubby had their jambalaya. All was good, and we were full when we left!

We will never go here again. Ordered fried green tomatoes and received unseasoned overly greasy tomatoes. Ordered blackened redfish and it too, unseasoned, unblackened with tasteless sauce. Cheese grits were a hard ball and totally inedible. We’re not satisfied, disgusted and disappointed. Tried to call establishment but to no avail, they wouldn’t answer.

This used to be a long time favorite place of mine and I have given them multiple second chances over the past few months hoping they would solve their problems. But today may have been the last 2nd chance they get from me. They haven’t been ready to start serving lunch on time on a few different visits because Chef hadn’t arrived yet. Today the lemon icebox pie (which is usually delicious) was inedible. They charged me for it even though I couldn’t swallow a single bite. When they’re “on point” the food is quite good. But it’s just not consistent. I hate it and will miss eating there.

Went for fried crab claws which is advertised on their menu online. Didn’t have any so I decided to have a muffuletta, they didn’t have that either. Finally ordered grilled red fish with lump crabmeat on top. No crabmeat. Shrimp was used instead. It was very good but 3 tries and didn’t get what I ordered or wanted. Waitress was very sweet and apologetic. Don’t know if I’ll go back ♀️

I almost didn’t write this post, because I don’t want to bash or talk down on this place. I am giving this place an overall 3 stars only due to the flavor of the food. I feel that locals probably love this place, but as a non-local from out of town, looking for a mom and pop / small business, this place wasn’t doing it for me.

Food was terrible. Had oysters 3-4 out of dozen un-eatable. Tried bread pudding. It was terrible. Service was good and that is all. They could use a cook and some better recipes. Nice little restaurant.
