Nation’s makes a great cheeseburger! I came to Richmond to visit my pal Rusty Lipsplitter the tuba player for the SF Symphony and grab a lunch at the Red Onion, but when we spotted Nation’s Giant Hamburgers we said let’s eat there, because there’s a show with every meal. The burgers were fantastic and the show was a sight to see, and not for the weak of heart.

Usually I love nations but this location is TERRIBLE! 3 items and everyone was wrong. Like not a single edible item and it’s not cheap. Dry beef with absolutely zero seasoning. I was upcharged for things that are supposed to be free but didn’t receive what I paid for on all 3 items. Cashier is rude and clearly doesn’t pay attention. It’s very outdated and dirty. Save your money go literally anywhere else.

I love Nation’s have been eating there since I was a teenager. My rating is only based on the visit today, usually the rating would be at least 4 stars maybe 4.5. I was a little disappointed today because I ordered my go to the grilled cheese sandwich, which was good but as you will see in the picture the bread is barely toasted. The whole point of a grilled cheese sandwich is to get that crust and char on the outside and that is definitely missing. This won’t prevent me from going back, I will just make sure to add brown the bread to make sure that I get a true Grilled Cheese Sandwich. The picture is of both sides.

Fabulous place for a great hamburger. Got bacon burger with fries today. Just wish they had other cheese than American. Swiss or (pepper)jack. Great breakfasts here too. Pies are outstanding. Never had a bad pie. Favorites is cherry or berry. Staff here are fast and very friendly.

I put in my order for a couple of burgers and some fries, and then I ran to the cleaners right there. By the time I came right back my order was ready! Lettuce on the side for one burger just as requested! Update, not very happy now. American cheese on a chili cheese dog? Had to ask where’s the onions.
