The fish was so fishy I literally gagged multiple times trying to eat it. It’s so disappointing and gross to pay 45 dollars for EACH entree and have such low quality clearly farm raised and several days past ok to serve sushi and sashimi. I am so upset.
DO NOT order from here. Literally disgusting. It’s so fishy and nasty I won’t even give the plenty I refuse to eat to my dog to eat. No exaggeration.
The space is very quaint and cozy, but had a unique staircase effect inside.
I enjoyed a kaiseki dinner that was offered and some other dishes.
All the fish and selections were fresh and delicious. Everything was beautifully plated. My favorite dishes had to be the fried scallops and the negitoro roll.
I would definitely come back for an occasion, this place is definitely great for a peaceful date night, but they could use a little music inside to creat more of an ambiance.
The last comment I have is that I wished the waitress would give me a little more time to enjoy one of the dishes. I was talking to my partner and it might have seem like I was done with my food. But otherwise, she was attentive to when I needed more tea or water.
Overall, I enjoyed the freshness of my food and intimacy I got with my partner because of the peaceful environment of this restaurant.
Tucked away in a discreet location, Nare Sushi is my go-to restaurant, exuding a serene ambiance and offering exceptional cuisine. I recently visited with my friends, and the experience was nothing short of remarkable.
The food is consistently outstanding, with the sushi omakase, miso soup, and Japanese fried chicken (Tatsuta age) being particular highlights. The fried chicken, in particular, is simply divine – it’s easily one of the best I’ve ever tasted.
If you’ve never had the pleasure of trying Tatsuta age, I highly recommend you do so. This restaurant is a true culinary haven, offering a harmonious blend of flavors and an atmosphere that is nothing short of heavenly.
Food was great!! I ordered the omakase tasting menu.
I think my only complaint it was the size of the pierce of fish, little small but delicious.
Food is good, i like the noodle most. For appetizers the one with tofu is really good.
If you have a big party over size of 6 you should make a reservation, as the space can be limited, especially for lunch time.
Location nice but not overwhelming for NYC standards . The food though was great. I had a 5 course Menu including Omasake sushi fresh from the chef. It was one of the best sushi in a long time. Fish was of great Quality, creations very creative. Definitely worth a dinner. If you can you should sit at the counter. Less comfy chairs but more entertaining.
