After seeing that Naq’s Halal Food had all 5 star reviews, we decided to give it a shot. It is located in Island Park. I had never gone to any halal spot in that area but we drove there from Flushing to check out the hype.
The combo (chicken/lamb) over rice was super fresh! Their quality of meat supersedes that of other combo over rice platters’. We also tried the philly cheesesteak and chopped cheese. Both were good but we preferred the chopped cheese. It’s basically a cheeseburger but all chopped up! I think it tasted better than the philly because it was more cheesy, or maybe also the type of meat?
One thing to note about the “hot wings” on the menu is that they’re not actually hot wings. They’re just wings that aren’t seasoned, then you can choose whichever sauce to dip it in, or they can pour it onto the wings for you. Shahid explained to us that when they first got the store they were under the impression that they would be hot wings, but those were no longer made…Something along those lines—I was too focused on the food to pay attention to details
We also tried the lamb gyro in a pita, as well mozarella sticks. Their food was fresh, and Shahid was running the store on his own. He was extremely kind and hospitable. We felt like we were at home!

Moving from Queens NY and having the blessing of knowing what a chop cheese should be, I wasn’t surprised that out here in Long Island it’s not only over priced but also disappointing. Here expect to pay over $10 with tax for a less fulfilling sandwich, less cheese, less satisfaction. I ate half and decided to take some pics of the other half just for you to decide for yourself. I wouldn’t buy it again. Not worth the price. It was ready in 10 mins tho.

Ordered on uber eats . Chicken over rice with salads , hot sauce and. Bbq sauce. Walked 20 mins to get . Walk back 20 mins home. Open it up and white sauce is dripping out the side . The entire meal is covered in white sauce . No hot no bbq
