When we arrived, the waitresses had no idea we had a reservation; but luckily, they had a table open. They asked the cook about it, and he confirmed that we did call about a reservation. When we sat down, we noticed that the phone number on the menu (this one seems to go to the front phone) and on the online menu (this one seems to go to the cook) were different. My fiancé took it upon himself to double check on the gluten free pasta. The waitress asked the cook about it, and he said there was no gluten free pasta available and no time to prepare it. But he would be able to make any dish gluten free for me.
We (4 adults) waited for our food for a little over 2 hours. While my food didn’t have pasta in it, the sauce seemed to have gluten in it because by the time I had finished the meal, I was having a reaction.
My fiancé was given a piece of free cheesecake to compensate for the long wait. It looked unappetizing, and he said it was chewy and had a weird twang.
My boys are 6 and 8 years old, and they inherited my dairy allergy (not an intolerance, an actual allergy) so typically we dont go to Italian restaurants. My niece wanted to go to napolis for her birthday so we did. When the waitress came to take our order I asked if the meatballs contained milk. If they’re store bought they usually do. She said she would go check and when she returned she said “he doesnt think they do so it’ll be fine”.
I asked if they made the meatballs or ordered them, she told me they ordered them and I asked if she would go read the allergy information on the label of the package. “He already threw it away” she replied. My mom interjected and asked if there were more packages in storage where a label could be read. She replied that there weren’t. But reiterated “it should be fine…”
Sorry, miss, thats not how allergies work. So I ordered spaghetti noodles and red sauce for my boys and I. No sides or anything just the pasta and sauce. There were 3 other couples in the restaurant so it was mostly empty and it still took 45 minutes to get our food. I was already frustrated with the staff’s unwillingness to half way investigate allergy information, and having my hungry boys waiting close to an hour for food only added to that frustration.
We get our food, we eat, and we go to the front to pay. They wouldnt write us separate checks so I didn’t know what id owe until I got to the front. For 2 child’s plates and one regular spaghetti they charged us thirty freaking dollars. I couldnt believe it.
The service wasnt good, the food was average, and the bill was expensive. Next time ill spend 8 bucks and make better spaghetti at home.
We went on a Friday evening, ordered two appetizers. They were both pretty cold and absolutely disgusting. They charge twelve dollars for 6 prefrozen shrimp swimming in a watery butter with almost no seasoning at all. Stuffed mushrooms were slimy and had a nasty sweet pink cream sauce all over them.
The waitress was nice enough but she didn’t have any idea what was even on the menu and made several mistakes, including forgetting to put in the order for my uncle’s dinner with everyone else’s.
When our entrees came out (minus the one she forgot) everything either tasted sour, watery/sweet, or off. I found a short curly black hair in my Alfredo. I have long, very straight brown hair.
Everyone’s weekend was ruined. Could barely make it from the bedroom to the bathroom. I feel I’ve said enough.
Only Gordon Ramsay with Kitchen Nightmares could save this place. Save you and your family, do not go!
