On the way up to the Upper Peninsula, land of the very scarce vegan options, we stopped in Grand Rapids, Michigan to pick up a (pre-ordered) vegan birthday cake. The Lyon Street location was adorable, with easy parking, a few outdoor seating spots and friendly staff. They are a full service Bakery that carry a few rotating vegan menu items in stock daily with the ability to pre-order any of the many vegan items they carry and vegan birthday cakes. Check out their website for more info.
We both got a vegan walnut chocolate chip cookie and goobled those tasty things up in the car before I got a good close up pic. I also got a vegan everything croissant which was the perfect thing to go with some of my chickpea salad when we arrived at the hotel in St. Ignace that night, yum. The cake was even still really delicious 3 days later, when we finally cut it on Brian’s Birthday. Vanilla cake, with chocolate frosting. I definitely recommend checking out this place if you are in the area.
Thanks for the great vegan options, Nantucket Baking Co.

We can never express enough superlatives for Nantucket Bakery and their hardworking and personable staff. And we cannot convey our regrets that we took almost ten years to finally acknowledge our satisfying sentiments!
We’re spurred today especially to post our happiness not so much for all the from-another-galaxy-too-wonderful-for words goodies but to point out a most magnificent encounter with Bailey today (Saturday morning, February 7th), at the Lyon shop.
They is quite an asset to the bakery with an unfailing politeness and charm. And let’s throw in that they know her stuff.
Also, we’d like to add Marco [sic] – the person with the kerchief; he’s always cheerful and incredibly consistent with his greetings, introductory and farewell.
But naming these two does not imply nor intend to ignore other associates at NBC. There’s never been a less than positive experience with any of them in our decade of patronage.
Please accept our compliments and contentment with not only your ace but with the other such aces who toil there and serve us beautifully with your never fail baked goods.
Thank you gratefully for the pleasure.

The best pastries in the whole world. Muffins, scones, croissants, cookies, breads, pies, whatever. You name it and they’ve perfected it. My personal favorite is their Nutella muffin. I’ve been going for years and have never been disappointed.

This bakery is amazing! I’ve been in here plenty of times for their out of this world fresh bread, scones, cookies and more. Recently, I ordered a strawberry cheesecake for my friend’s birthday and it was PHENOMENAL!! Literally the BEST cheesecake I’ve ever had. Their friendly staff was so helpful over the phone and even via email when I needed to edit my order. Thank you Nantucket Bakery for the excellence you provide to the community!

A must stop when we are passing thru Grand Rapids. Drop off savory croissants for our hosts, and pickup the best almond biscotti. All items are delicious fresh, flakey, and the mammoth cookies are great to share.
