It was my first visit to this restaurant, and I stopped in for their lunch buffet—I’m a big fan of Indian food. The food and service were outstanding! The naan was freshly baked, the Pakora was incredible, and there was a great selection of rice, vegetables, meats, and sauces. Everything I tried was full of flavor, but the okra masala was my favorite. If you love Indian cuisine, I highly recommend stopping by and giving this place a try.

I recently dined at Nanglo Indian and Momo, and overall, it was a delightful experience with some standout dishes and a few that didn’t quite hit the mark.

I started with the Chicken 65, which I found to be flavorful and spicy as expected. However, the chicken was quite tough and hard to chew compared to other versions I’ve had across the U.S. This dish didn’t quite live up to my expectations, especially given its reputation.

On a brighter note, the Chicken Qorma was outstanding! The flavors were zesty, the vegetables were perfectly crunchy, and the overall taste was solid. It really stood out among the dishes I tried.

Then the chicken curry, curry itself was verygood, but the chicken pieces could have used a bit more seasoning to elevate them.

The Garlic Naan deserves a special mention—soft as cotton and incredibly tasty. I could easily have eaten two of those!

The Chicken Chow Mein was another highlight, featuring perfectly cooked chicken with a fantastic blend of Indo-Nepalese-Chinese flavors.

As for dessert, the Kheer (rice pudding) was decent but could have benefited from a smoother consistency, as the rice was a bit too firm. On the other hand, the chai was ultra-tasty and a lovely complement to the meal.

The Chicken Tikka (grilled) didn’t excite me as much, but my family members enjoyed it, so it seems to cater to varied tastes.

Chai deserve a special mention took me back to my south Asian roots!

The service was wonderful; the staff was kind and attentive, and the ambiance of the restaurant was great. Overall, I had a good time and a positive experience. I look forward to trying something different on my next visit!

Curries were excellent, the naan seemed to be made in house and was light, really nice and really flavorful and overall was a stellar experience. One thing that really rubbed me wrong though is the place is called Nanglo Momos. I would expect the momos to be authentic and excellent and to appear as they do on the image on the sign, and on the menu – round, sort of like a bao. But even if they were irregular or crescent or long, if they were clearly handmade that’d be great! These however seemed to be off the shelf frozen dumplings, I believe I know exactly the varietysteamed and served for quite a high price, in a very, very thin noodle. I love dumplings. I don’t even mind frozen dumplings. But for a place with momo in the name, they were quite disappointing, and from looking through the other photos this appears to be typical, and I see no authentic looking momos. That’s all fine, the curry was excellent and I look forward to trying more of the menu, but be warned on the momos, it’s an off the shelf frozen dumpling.

I’ve gotten takeout from here multiple times in the past week, and each time it’s been excellent. Walk in and your nose will be greeted with the warm aroma of spices. I really like that Nanglo has some hyper-regional cuisine on offer (Chicken choila, chicken 65) that is generally difficult to find, especially around Appleton, and they execute incredibly well. If you like spice, this is your place. I ordered “extra hot” thinking it’d be mildly tingly at best, and I was treated to a face-melting level of spice that left me with a numb tongue and an incredibly happy stomach.

Protip: The “appetizers” are a meal in themselves, as portion sizes are very generous. Come hungry or leave happy (and with leftovers!)

I tried out the lunch buffet and chicken momos. The buffet had such amazing dishes that I stuffed myself stupid–barely leaving me the opportunity to eat a single momo. The momos were delicious, spicy, and unique–imagine a wonton filled with curried, spicy chicken. Amazing! I really enjoyed the Nepalese music and videos they were showing in there, which gave it a unique feel.

I will be rating this establishment in three areas Food, Service, and Atmosphere.

As far as I know this appears to be the only functioning Indian buffet in Appleton right now. When I learned of its existence I had to stop in.

Food: 5/5 ✨ on my visit I had to try the chicken Tika Masala with naan and I have to say that the buffet serving of it is absolutely delicious. The naan also always comes out very fresh from there clay oven. Very good stuff! The sauce is very good and the chicken is very uniform.

Service: 5/5 ✨ The service is always prompt and pleasant always delivered with a smile. You are always quickly served with water or any beverage you might request. Tables are kept clean and they check the food often to top it off. The establishment is very clean every time I am there.

Atmosphere: 5/5 ✨ Being a new establishment everything is clean and pleasant. I am sure improvements will be made with time and in the mean time it is a nice place to sit for a meal. The only thing I can think of is that the TV seems to be playing video of landscapes but audio that’s describing food dishes. I am sure that there are plenty of relevant videos that can be played in the background of a restaurant that have audio that’s synced with video.

All that being said I have visited more than once and will be going back for more very soon!

Fantastic authentic Nepali restaurant. I got the thali plate which includes rice, dal, vegetables, and chicken. It’s a great dish to try different Nepali dishes. I also got the chicken momos which were delicious. Would definitely recommend.

This is a new restaurant opened at W College avenue. They only have a lunch buffet and as we visited during evening, We went with Samosa and Nepal speciality Chicken Momos.
The samosa were vegetarian and a huge disappointment as the filling inside had zero salt. Plus the accompanying chutneys were bland. Requested for salt and tomato ketchup so that we could make it better and finish.
Then came the Chicken momos, $14 for 10 pieces and absolutely delicious. The filling was tasty and the covering was like an art piece. Wonderful taste of the chutney, I literally wiped out the chutney. Total bill $22, a bit on higher side when you compare with similar restaurant in Appleton.

As someone from Nepal, my review may be a little biased — but that also means it might be especially useful if you’re looking for truly authentic Nepali food. Aside from a few spots in Queens, NY (which has some of the best Nepali cuisine), Nanglo Momo and Curry is the closest you’ll get to the real flavors of home.

Must-try Nepali dishes:

Mo:Mo — We usually get the chicken mo:mo, and it’s a classic you shouldn’t miss. (Fun fact: “mo:mo” is both singular and plural, so no need to say “mo:mos!”)

Chowmein — Chicken chowmein is another staple we always order.

Aaloo Sukuti — Potato with lamb jerky, one of our favorites.

Service:
Very professional, warm, and genuinely hospitable. You feel well taken care of every time.

Timing:
They’ve never been late with our orders. It’s not fast food, so don’t expect your meal in 30 seconds, but the wait time is always just right.

If you want to taste authentic Nepali cooking, start with the mo:mo — you won’t be disappointed.
