The host and waiters were super friendly, super nice.
The restaurant was tidy and clean, unfortunately there was some sticky parts on our table, I’ll give them 7/10 on that.
Talking about the food:
● The Chiken was succulent and just delicious, fresh to order
Food quality was great, survise was really good. Thank you all.
Would I come back? Yes, I would.
I finally visited Nando’s Peri-Peri for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted, and the inviting atmosphere immediately set a great tone for the meal.
The Food
As someone who doesn’t eat meat, I was thrilled with the options. The portion sizes were perfect—substantial enough to be filling, but not so large that they felt overwhelming.
The Firecorn: A total standout! This is an absolute must-order.
Portuguese Rice: Deeply flavorful and delicious.
Note: While the flavors were spot on, my food wasn’t quite as warm as I would have liked, but it was still very tasty.
The Vibe
The restaurant has a great chill vibe paired with excellent music. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax. They also offer a nice selection of reasonably priced alcoholic drinks, which is a plus!
Overall, it was a great dining experience. I’ll definitely be revisiting soon!
As a rice aficionado, I was excited to try a different type of seasoning and way of preparation.
The rice was excellent, however the mashed potatoes that we got with our family meal were to die for!
I wasn’t sure why my cousin ordered two portions of these potatoes instead of a third side dish option until I took the first bite. I truly feel I could have eaten an entire bowl of just the potatoes and been completely satisfied.
The creaminess, the texture, was insane! If I could have brought some home with me I would have!
The chicken was very flavorful and well seasoned. One of the cool things about Nando’s is they have all these different sauces that you can sprinkle on your food, ranging from fairly mild to burn your taste buds off.
For dessert we had this yummy little custard dish that was quite rich. So even though the taste buds wanted more, the tummy was full and happy!
The atmosphere was very colorful and fun! The staff was very friendly and as we went in a off-peak time, was able to answer all of my questions.
The entire place was spotless, well maintained, and we truly enjoyed sharing a relaxing meal there as a family.
Will definitely make sure we hit Nando’s again, the next time we’re in the DC area.
On a business trip outside of D.C., I asked the hotel staff for something a little different—and they pointed me to Nando’s Peri-Peri. I’d never been, but once I stepped inside and read the walls, I realized this wasn’t just your typical grilled chicken joint. With roots in Portuguese and South African flavors, the place already had me intrigued.
I went with something called the Rainbow Bowl—a vibrant combo of avocado, tomato, cucumbers, onion salad, pickled cauliflower, hummus, super seeds crunch, and feta, all layered over warm Portuguese rice and finished with a lemon herb drizzle. I added a grilled chicken breast to it, and the food came out fast. And wow—super flavorful. Not just heat for the sake of it, but real, layered spice. They had a whole variety of Peri-Peri sauces if you wanted to dial things up a notch, and I took a picture of the options—definitely worth sampling a few if you like to customize your spice level.
To drink, I had the Strawberry Rose Lemonade, which was refreshing and just different enough to stand out from the usual soda fountain fare.
Now here’s where it got pleasantly strange—in the best way. I ordered at the counter expecting a typical fast-casual experience, but then they brought my meal out to the table, restaurant-style. And not just that—multiple staff members came by to check in on me, ask how things were going, and if I needed anything else. A really warm, attentive vibe that I wasn’t expecting. The music was chill, the decor had character, and the whole place felt thoughtfully put together.
The location itself is in a very walkable area, perfect for strolling into a few shops afterward and walking off the meal. All in all, this place sits in that sweet spot between fast food and sit-down restaurant—quick enough for lunch, but welcoming enough to linger a bit.
Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and want something bold, flavorful, and just a little bit different.
Casey has been an absolute star of the store.
