Nance’s is a family-owned and operated restaurant located in Murrells Inlet, SC, just a short drive from Myrtle Beach. We offer a variety of fresh, local seafood, steaks, chicken, and burgers throughout the year. Our restaurant provides daily specials and is known as the Original Oyster Roast spot. During oyster season (September-April), we serve steamed local oysters and Oysters on the Half Shell. Our dining room is surrounded by large windows, offering great views of the water and the inlet, and we also have outside dining available, weather permitting. Food was very good. The entertainment they had that night was awesome. He was a solo singer and sang all the songs I love. I love the decor in the restaurant and the outside views of the marsh. Definitely will be back!!

2nd time here for my fiance-Its been over ten years though. First time for Me, my mother and my daughter. Our waitress was amazing.
Hush puppies were really good but not what we are used to bc they were sweet.
We all liked the crab dip, my daughter finished it off.
I had Alaskan crab legs with potatoe & corn, I loved it.
My mom & daughter had fried soft crab sandwich with potato salad, my kid wasn’t a fan but my mom liked it. My mom LOVED the oysters they had.
My fiance hasn’t seafood plater with shrimp, fish, scallops and potato salad..I tried a bite of his food and it was good, just a little fisher tasting than im used to. Potato salad was different than im used to but I took it home and and it later.
Would definitely come back again next time im in the state.

This was our first visit to Nance’s and we’ll be going back!
My wife had the shrimp/scallops and I had the whole baby flounder. That was crispy and I loved it. Our server Corinne took good care of us. And the guitarist performing was loud enough to hear, but not overwhelming like most of the Marshwalk.
We’ve been back so I wanted to update the review. Nance’s isn’t on the marshwalk so not as busy. We got the back deck to ourselves on the last visit.

Came for the live music..was a wash out unfortunately… but the view was amazing! The drinks from our bartender Jared were amazing and suggestions were on par. The Ghost Margarita is a MUST HAVE! Local oysters not to much of a brine, not to sweet, and massive. Although our table touches were scattered on a slow rainy Friday, the drinks and food will have you coming back for more.

Since the brother and sister (I’m assuming that is them) the food and service has gone downhill. They want it to be some high end oyster bar, but it’s not. When I was growing up they were packed every night serving great food and service. Now they have an identity crisis. Don’t try to change what works, cater to the locals that brought you this far. Having a bar in the main area is crazy. I brought my wife and kids last time and they had a game on TV in the bar and the people around the bar were understandably excited and loud but spending time with your family, to me, is more important. Don’t try to compete with the others, make them compete against you.

First time here in several years. Used to be my favorite oyster shack. Oysters were good, but all very small. Service was nonexistent. Waitress took our order and didn’t come back except to bring us a bill, when she then noticed we didn’t get a large portion of our order. Good was brought out by kitchen staff. No check ins, no drink refills, etc. Our appetizer was comped due to one entree never being brought out to us. This is unacceptable. We never even saw our waitress, to tell her we were missing a meal. For an hour, no one asked, checked in or noticed.

My family of 13 & 3 family friends all met at Nancy’s in Murrells Inlet as we have always done over the years, my cousin that now lives in Georgia, but I was born & raised in Myrtle Beach along with the rest of us love to go to Nancy’s for our family get together, she always gets oysters. We were born & raised on oysters when in season. We noticed that she received her full pan of oysters first, 15 to 20 minutes before we receive our food she kept saying they’re not even really warm & couldn’t open them & believe me you’re talking to someone that can open a oyster & that has opened oysters for probably 60 + yrs. She asked the waiter if he could take them back put them in the oven & warm them, he was rude, saying to her no, since Covid we can’t take anything back to the kitchen, wasn’t very nice at all about it at all! That’s all he said & walked away! She still tried to open her oysters with help from us sitting around her. She then asked to speak to the manager he said to her “what!”She then said I would like to see the manager because he told her in the beginning he would send the manager over, anyways a short time later the manager showed, she told her that she’s not supposed to take the pan back to the kitchen, but she would & said they were going to be dry. My cousin explained her they are really dried anyways, because evidently they had already been cooked & probably sitting waiting on someone to order oysters! Those were brought to her, Just barely warm. I have pictures of the butter for my baked potato sitting along the side of her pan of oysters when they first brought them over to our table, it never melted my butter, I even said to myself this pan don’t even feel hot, but didn’t say anything. ( I now wish i would’ve) but we were all having a good time & didn’t want to be negative about the 1st food that was brought to the table.. Needless to say that was our last trip to our (at 1 time) special restaurant to where all of our family has always went. It’s gone downhill. Evidently under new ownership.. It only has a few tables inside now. It seems to me they are more welcoming to the parting crowd, because half of the sitting area that used to be all tables is now a huge bar lit up in blue lights… So it’s all about the drinkers the partiers now.. Which is fine if you’re going to turn it to a local dive bar & no longer a high end Local Seafood Restaurant! Just let it be known to locals that have always went to Nances for their good food & great oysters! The bathrooms were not very well cleaned with writing scratched through the paint all over both bathroom stall doors, which are only 2 in the women’s bathroom. We all were very disappointed with our food that we received, especially the full roast of oysters for my cousin, the eldest lady at our table ordered a flounder dinner & didn’t receive it until we were almost done eating our dinner! We did not get any apologies from the rude waiter .nor the suppose to be manager, only from the young waitress that helped wait on our table, I cannot remember her name, but she was superb. I can only say to her now if I could, please find another restaurant to work at because you’re great & very customer friendly! You could really make some great tips elsewhere, maybe Drunken Jack’s, Hot Fish Club Wahoo’s Fish House, Lee’s Inlet Kitchen, Sara J’s or any of all the other numerous restaurants in Murrells Inlet! And if the manager reads this, If I can say one thing to you, for you supposedly being the manager, what you should’ve done was said to my cousin (let me get you a fresh “hot” roast)That is what you should’ve done, instead you lost a party of at least 17 (this night) people that usually came at least once or twice a year with an average bill of$550 to $600 & that were all locals except for 3 of us, We will not ever come back.. I pick up oysters every season down in Murrells Inlet & those small little teeny oysters y’all had sucked. The manager is in the wrong business, maybe she would be best at managing Burger King, Dairy Queen or another fast food restaurant..

Spectacular views of the Inlet. I highly recommend visiting during sunset. Thick white cut of fish. Batter is on the heavier side. Clam strips were some of the smallest I’ve had. Tasty fried food overall. Crab cake pictured I believe was ~ $12 Hushpuppies are some of the best I’ve had! Compared to the other marshwalk area restaurants I would say it’s alright. I definitely enjoyed my meal though.
