On arrival I went to the ladies room
Pitch black (light came on once you are in). It was a distance from the bar, no tables near, I felt so unsafe in there, very scary as a woman in this situation. I found two toilets filthy and the others were without toilet paper. It was around noon on a Sunday, quite empty so staff could have found time to clean ready for our big party coming in.
The food served one watery soup, my meal was just 6 prawns ( which I asked for a main meal!) the equivalent of one potato of fries and a bowl of salad, which was 99% iceberg lettuce and a shaving of cucumber… my husband had same salad, same fries and a few tiny bits of white fish(half a pouch of cat food size fish!). Not even £1.20 worth of food between us!!! Bill £48!!! Bottle of Prosecco £26 on top.
We didn’t want to complain in front of the party. We decided to wait until the next day and speak constructively to the manager. As I said, no joy on the phone.
The place wasn’t busy apart from our party.
The music was so loud we couldn’t hear what the person next to you was saying. They did turn it down eventually.
Hand on heart, it’s put us off eating out again!
If we could give minus stars we would.
I am sorry but this was just awful.
Both myself and the OH had never been for “Thai” before, but we both loved the food. I have some allergies so had to ask about the food, the staff were lovely and friendly, explaining or going to find out for us was no problem.
The food was AMAZING. I’ve had Thai Green and Red curry before, but never seen a Yellow. It’s a very mild one, so the OH tried a chicken one (he can’t do spicy). It came with onions and potatoes in it and is coconut milk based. He said it had a little bit of zing to it, but was lovely. He’d have it again. I had the Thai Green, which was a little spicier than I’ve had before but I really enjoyed it. The rice is served in little round dishes, which are deceptive in size, you actually get a good size portion in them!
We had the duck spring rolls and chicken parcels for starters, which were beautifully presented. They even made carrot flowers as garnish. Tasted as good as they looked. We spent just £70 for the 2 of us, including drinks, so about average.
Lastly I just wanted to say the atmosphere was great, there was a live lounge singer walking around, doing happy birthdays etc and singing a range of jazz and soul songs. Was a lovely touch.
We ordered one with chicken one with prown
Reasonable prices an big portion
Very tasty
We all had the lunch menu which included a starter and a main. The food was good, and the portion sizes of the mains were generous, except the massaman curry, which didn’t have a lot of curry, but did have rather large chunks of potato.
We added another starter after originally ordering, but they were happy to help us.
The place is a little dark though, and the male server/ bartender was much more friendly than the female server we had.
We paid £90 for the 4 of us including drinks.
However, the pad Thai we had both had was disgusting. Couldn’t finish it, did not look or taste like a classic pad Thai at all.
Quite disappointing considering the price of it. The service was also incredibly slow!!
