This was our first time here. We were thrilled and will be back. They have a whole section of the menu dedicated to the previous owner which is so sweet. We went with the recommended tuna sashimi, tikka masala sea bass, crab fried rice, and finished with the special chocolate torta for dessert. All were fantastic. I asked for a wine pairing and they didn’t disappoint when Tino brought me a pinot noir. Pedro was friendly, efficient and overall delightful! He was entertaining and enthusiastic. His love for making his patrons happy really showed through. We could see the owner walking about and making sure everything was smooth. Overall a delightful dinning experience.

The food was delicious, and the workers are so nice. The hubby ordered a Bloody Mary and didn’t expected it to have food with it.

I would pay to NOT eat here.

We had reservations and they were not ready for us until well after the reservation. Then we waited an hour and forty minutes to get our food, only for one order to be completely cold, and the other raw. Once they tried again the food was completely flavorless—an actual TV dinner would have been preferable. To top it all off, we ended up getting sick from eating here.

If you’re looking for an enjoyable dining experience, I would suggest literally anything else, even the Taco Bell next door, before eating at Nami.

Food awful – honestly feel bad for the sweet servers. There is no match to the photos, and the salmon sashimi was just very bad quality. My “medium” ribeye was raw inside but tough like a shoe. Waiters were nice though! Worst price-quality ratio ever.

Food wasn’t great. The fried rice for whatever reason was very crunchy. The imitation crab and the shrimp in our sushi roll looked inedible. We did not finish any of our food that we ordered because it was either not good or because it did not look appetizing. The margaritas we ordered were pretty terrible and the waiter was just okay. Sadly, we will not be returning for a second chance. Hopefully your experience is better than ours.

New restaurant in the former Cibo’s space. Great location, right
across the street from the Conference Center. It should have been
crowded, but on a Monday night, it was not. The beautiful and
comfortable bar area was empty.

I am celiac (no gluten, not even cross contact). It appears they are
getting up to speed on how to handle someone like me. Our server
Stephanie was fabulous and determined to accommodate my needs, but she
had to talk the chef into it. I mark this up to being newly open.
Specifically, I asked whether the Tikka Masala Seabass was GF. From
the description, it appears to be. Stephanie said she would
double-check with the chef. She came to report that he had said since
the pan had cross contact, it wasn’t really GF. He suggested that the
only GF items were the GF pizzas (they apparently have a dedicated GF
oven, which I will definitely be back to try). I asked whether he
could make my fish in a clean pan? This is an obvious and easy fix.
She cheerfully reported back that he would do that.

The fish was delicious, and I ate every bite. My companion tried a
roll as an appetizer that she really liked also. Stephanie brought us
a lovely GF dessert, comped for my birthday.

I would ask that they consider upgrading the wine list to include more
reasonably-priced and local non-chardonnay options. The cheapest
bottle was House Pinot Grigio, which turned out to be Seaglass ($13
retail), for $56. Pretty steep for that level of wine. And we’re in
Wine Country in Monterey County.

I think the restaurant holds much promise. It is owned by the Pangaea
Carmel people, a restaurant that we like very much, and that also
seems gluten-safe.

I was excited to experience the new Japanese flare after the rebranding from Cibo, but unfortunately the sushi was by far the worst I’ve ever had. We shared two different rolls and they were equally awful. I also had the ribeye steak which was very thin and full of gristle. I’m sorry to say we definitely won’t be coming back.
