My daughter and I love Indian food and went to Namaste for the first time tonight and it was 10/10, no notes, delicious. For drinks, we ordered the Masala Chai and the Mango Lassi which were both perfect. We got the vegetable Pakoda as an app and loved the dressing on the salad with the dipping sauces, then we had the Mango Chicken which was in a sweet and savory spiced sauce and was served with perfectly cooked and fragrant rice. We also ordered a side of garlic naan to dip in the sauce which I would highly recommend. We wanted to try dessert, but were too full. The main dishes are served in a decorative metal bowl which was a nice touch and keeps the food hot and the service was impeccable. They were very busy and didn’t miss a beat on serving us. Clearly authentic food. Love loved our meal!

I really wanted this place to get a good review. I’ve been here twice , the first time was mediocre. The second time…

We Ordered –
1. Gobi Manchurian – soggy , tangy but no other flavor
2. Vegetable Pakoda – Raw in the middle
3. Chili chicken – Tangy but no flavor
4. Garlic naan – ok
5. Mysore Masala dosa – dosa was burned, all of the masala was in one small glob in the center. So bland except one bite which was quite hot.
6. Rasmali was still frozen. I mentioned , they brought a second one out which was also frozen….

One positive mention – the Sambar is good. And the salad with the appetizers was ok.

So in summary, epic failure pretending to be Indian food. Very disappointing. Probably will not return.

It is also very expensive with a price of $20+ per dish.

Update:
They’ve finally debuted the weekend lunch buffet! We love Indian and also love buffets, so we were excited to try this.

They offer a nice variety of options. Some dishes have more heat than others. The sauce flavors are good. However, the meats are bland and overcooked. The rice is crunchy. The naan bread was dried out, and they didn’t replenish it when it was empty. I don’t know about you, but I like a little nibble of tasty, warm naan with my food.

Their salad is a worthless pile of veggies. Dessert gulag jamun is good, carrot pudding isn’t to my taste.

Very few diners here for lunch on Wed. They won’t let you order from the lunch menu! Service is lacking – we had to wait long periods of time to get attention from our server. Food is expensive and just kind of boring. I much prefer the other Indian place in town.

I have been afraid to try any Indian food since I moved back from Maryland over a decade ago. Why? Ain’t nobody here in NW Montana knows how to cook Indian food. Until now, my friends. Until now. My wife and I went to Namaste (she’d never had Indian food before) and we had the Chicken Tikka Masala and Mango Chicken, both medium for spiciness, and garlic naan. And a mango drink that I forgot the name of immediately after ordering it, but it was delicious!

We like spicy food, and we probably could have ordered the Mango Chicken in “hot” and the Tikka Masala had decent heat at Medium, but we probably could have gone “hot” as well. Caveat: my wife is Latina and I’m a sucker for punishment.

To make a long story short: everything we had was absolutely excellent and I had to fight the plate away from my wife to keep her from licking it. Alright, it was me, and she works out so she was actually able to prevent me from doing it.

Our server was very kind, outgoing, and absolutely a wonderful person as well. I’ll butcher the spelling but thank you, Shivu! We’ll be back!

Oof so spicy!

What
I got a couple of items! Gobi Manchurian – It was good, not the best. I think it was in Medium Spicy (which was very spicy to me), The batter was good and the cauliflower was crunchy (almost like chicken?). Truffle Dosa – I tasted the truffle oil fragrant in the dosa which was quite different that’s why I got it. Though I feel the dipping sauces and the Indian spices drowns the truffle. Great concept though, but very conflicting on what I want – truffle fragrant or the Indian spices! Lamb Biryani – This was very spicy as well (though he suggested medium…I need baby spicy) – I thought the rice was good, but felt the meat was not fresh. Overall it was ok

Environment
This was located in the plaza on the end, close to the Homewood Suites. There is plenty of parking available, so not hard to find. The inside was pretty big, there is plenty of seating available from tables and also booths.

Niceness of the staff
SUPER SUPER nice staff! I was able to pick the seat (maybe it wasn’t busy) and also the guy taking my order had patience.

Dollar
I thought was decently priced. The biryani was 20, truffle dosa 12, Manchurian around 12. the total was 40 something. Not bad

Yes/No?
I would return here if I was in the area. But would order other items to try it.

Visited this place they are short staffed server took time to bring the menu we had to ultimately ask for the menu, we ordered tomato soup which tasted like curry (very bad soup) , samosa were okayish the filling was not great, we ordered madras chicken which was okayish the garlic naan, they need to work on their food, for the price they are charging and portion size is less! Overall it wasn’t a good experience!

We had a fantastic family dinner at Namaste Indian Restaurant! We ordered a huge variety — masala fries and chicken lollipop appetizers, butter chicken, shrimp korma, chicken biryani, garlic naan, plain naan, and kashmiri naan — and everything was delicious.

It was us and our four kids, and everyone left full and happy… and actually asking to go back, which is rare with kids! We ordered all dishes mild, and they still had great flavor with just a little heat — not too spicy for the kids to enjoy.

The service was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!

Food was absolutely amazing. Everyone was very friendly. My only complaint was having our 3 entree’s come out about 3-5 minutes apart. My husband was more than halfway done by the time I got my meal. But the food was worth the wait!
