Today was my youngest son’s birthday, so we decided to try Namak Mandi Glasgow for the first time after reading all the positive reviews. The ambiance was genuinely nice, and their service stood out in the best way. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and really made us feel comfortable. In terms of hospitality, everything was perfect.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the experience.
We ordered Charsi Lamb Karahi, Chicken Mandi, and Chicken Kabab. None of the dishes tasted good, and it was honestly disappointing considering how good the reviews were. What made it worse was finding a hair in the karahi. We didn’t complain, didn’t make a scene—we simply packed everything and gave it to a homeless person outside.
The best part of the evening ended up being the birthday cake we brought ourselves.
A small note for anyone planning to visit: they don’t have parking available, so keep that in mind.
Overall, great ambiance and excellent service, but the food quality needs serious improvement.

As a home baker and food blogger with over 20 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of trying countless dishes but my visit to Namak Mandi was truly something special. The food was phenomenal. We ordered Dahi bhalay, chicken mandi, Lamb charsi karahi and chapli kabab+ roghni naan. The chicken mandi was spot on, roghni naan fresh and fluffy, and every dish we ordered, packed with authentic flavour. What made the evening truly exceptional, was Jaffar, his humour and VIP-level service made the dinner truly special. We would definitely visit here again.

Wow! This place was absolutely amazing. The décor and ambience were beautiful, and the staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The food was outstanding. The mixed grill platter was perfectly cooked and well seasoned, and the karahi paired with garlic naan was delicious.
We also brought our own cake, which the staff presented beautifully.
Every member of the team was fantastic, helpful especially Br. Jaffar. He was so pleasant and friendly, kept us engaged with great conversation, and truly has an amazing personality, he’s a real asset to the company.
I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning very soon. They made a memorable day even more special

Food was excellent, staff were so friendly and helped with our choices off the main menu. Had a great meal and will definitely be back in the future. They also do a lunchtime buffet that we will try in our next visit 5/5

Amazing food and great value for money. The only downside is that the place is cash only, so card payments are not accepted, which felt a bit odd. That said, the food made up for it. I would definitely recommend the karahi and chapli kebabs. I also tried the Afghani pulao, which was a bit dry for my taste, but the portion sizes were generous overall.

Amazing and tasty food. The place is very good and friendly. We were not only served but welcomed so well and told that this is like your second home. Well actually we felt it visiting this city from Canada for the first time and good that we choose this place for food. We were served by Jaffa. If you are here, ask about him. What an amazing discovery this restaurant Had a lovely dining experience. Great quality food with generous portions. We took special mix grill and lamb mandi with Rohan & regular Naans.
Kebabs were authentic Iranian and Mandi was Peshawari. I was doubtful about the combo but they tasted juicy and full of flavours. The service outstanding—so friendly, funny, and full of positive energy. Highly recommend this place—not just for the food, but for the whole experience. Will definitely visit this when in Glasgow again.

Very nice experience, the old boy waiter who works there is world class and treats you like a king. Food is exceptionally good value for money, and the waitress brought us some free extra popadoms as we loved them. This is a nice touch, good service.
A feast for two people at £40-50 total. They didnt request a tip but we gave one as we thought they deserved it, and with the food being great value we didn’t mind adding one.

We had such a wonderful experience here! Jaffa truly made our night, he shared so many great stories that kept us entertained and smiling the whole time. His service was warm, attentive and genuinely memorable.
The food was absolutely delicious. It’s always so wonderful to try new dishes, and this was our first time here but it definitely won’t be our last. I’ll be recommending Namak Mandi to everyone for both the incredible food and the outstanding service.
