Nakato is always a fun for a rounded hibachi experience. The bar is a great spot to hang out before your reservation begins. They have a main dining area for regular dine in, and the separate hibachi section itself is split into two parts: one with traditional sit-down tables and another with semi-enclosed rooms featuring lowered seating. That cozy, traditional vibe is really fun.
The food quality is consistently high. Everything tastes good – whether you go for shrimp, scallops or steak. The chefs are skilled and entertaining. The only downside is it’s just too bright. They should dim the lights to create a cozier, more intimate atmosphere. But overall, it’s still a great spot for solid hibachi.

Went here with a few of the boys. We actually brought like 40 people and they were really accommodating. Sat down, had some great conversations. The soup and salad were really good. I don’t know what they put in it but it’s really cool. Love the show and everything. Really fun and also the food is super good. It’s probably drenched in butter but overall really good. I got the chicken and steak and it was super good. Everything was fatty and and salty so maybe a bit of acidity would be nice but overall really great. My Beli gave it like a 7.7 and I think it’s about a four. So overall really great, recommend!

We were in Atlanta and the traffic was horrible. My wife and I chose to eat instead of getting frustrated on the road. Within 15 minutes of our location was this restaurant. I love Japanese cuisine so it was a no-brainer. We arrived at the beginning of their service hours. The place was vacant except for a handful of diners. My wife and I ordered at the hibachi area because they had a large party in the dining room. That’s backward to what I’m used to, but it was fine wherever they wanted to start us. I ordered the filet mignon and my wife ordered the filet mignon with shrimp. The only complaint I had for the meal was the chives. They were in the soup and they were in the fried rice. I could have done without chives. Otherwise, this location is highly recommended!

Came here for my mom’s birthday dinner. Very busy on Saturday night. Highly recommend reservations. We did hibachi for a party of 6 and all enjoyed ourselves. The new renovations are beautiful.

Split an app, sushi rolls and sushi pieces with a friend. Lots of sushi rolls to choose from. We also split a dessert. Price was reasonable including the cocktails/wine. Definitely will come back to try the Habachi menu.

ALEX was the best waiter I’ve had in YEARS in this city. He was super friendly, attentive and charismatic. We came to celebrate our Baptism, and he even drew a cross in chocolate on a free dessert for us. He was amazing!!!
Sadly, our hibachi chef was off his game. Almost everything he prepared was undercooked or overcooked. Rice was so under it tasked like brown rice, the noodles were burnt, and he cooked my salmon longer than the chicken. The vegetables at least were cooked perfectly! And he didn’t even do the fire explosion! 🙁
I will say the kiss of death sushi roll was amazing.

Excellent variety of Sushi and drinks! Came for a tasting and will likely be back for Omakase experience. Recently renovated and the interior feels open and inviting

My go-to place for hibachi! I wasn’t a fan of hibachi growing up, but it has grown on me over the years. This place is a plus because it’s family- owned and you get full experience taking your shoes off and sitting on the floor, if you prefer that experience. I’ve yet to see the renovations, but I am sure it’s beautiful.
When you order hibachi it comes with your chose of rice and like butter garlic noodles, I don’t a hibachi spot that does that.
I love the sushi here (Ika, Yellowtail, salmon, Amberjack). I am not a big fan of rolls, but I love their my spicy tuna roll and negihama roll.
Lunch time I usually do a to-go chicken hibachi bowl, love love love. Would love to try their omakase one day!

I enjoyed this hibachi experience. The cook was nice and friendly and he was patient with our autistic child. He cooked the food really well. I didn’t like that the fried rice was extra from the price of the food and the waitress didn’t mention it. The seating was different as the seats go under the table but yet you’re still sitting on the floor. Gratuity is included. The drinks were strong and tasty lol.

My husband and I came here for our 20th anniversary dinner on Saturday 1-17-26 quite by accident. Our original dinner plans did not work out at another restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised to see that Nakato was right there to save the night. From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed by the front lobby staff. We wanted Hibachi, but due to the wait we opted to dine in on the opposite side and was seated immediately.
Our server Ben was most gracious and kind, and was very helpful in explaining the menu items and making recommendations for our meal. The ambiance was perfect, and we enjoyed every item we ordered from appetizer to the main course. Even the warm Sake that Ben recommended was soothing given how cold it was outside.
Ben started to tell us a little history about Nakato and how he enjoyed working there but he was so delighted when we shared with him that 20 years ago on our wedding night, we came to Nakato to celebrate our union with a few close friends and family. So Saturday night, it was truly full circle for us and just fate that we wound up at the same place where it all started for us 20 years earlier. We had a great time, Ben took our pictures and we will add it to the original picture we had taken 20 years prior when we dined there on our wedding night. Thank you Nakato! the service was excellent, the food was tasty and satisfying and we will be back, next time with the children 🙂
