ended up eating here twice while visiting Santa Cruz, that’s how good it is! my friends and I ordered one of everything, plus sambusa and it was all delicious. I’m Eritrean and this food was definitely a taste of home for me, which I was so grateful for. the lamb combo was my favorite, definitely make sure to order extra injera and get awaze on the side!

owner is super sweet and funny, loved chatting with her. she also have a stand at the Wednesday farmers market 🙂

You will not be disappointed! A wonderful little spot with delicious Eritrean cuisine. We had the vegetarian plate which consisted of various vegetable and lentil stews on a teff crepe. It was delicious and highly recommended. The fresh pomegranate juice was so refreshing too!

I loved that this unique regional food was so accessible in downtown Santa Cruz.

Everything is delicious, fresh and prepared with a beautiful smile. Worth a visit, stop by you won’t be disappointed.

The lady who owns it explained how Eritrean food was a major influence on Ethiopian food and how because of Eritrea’s location along the trade routes of the Red Sea, they were like the original fusion makers, teaching the cultures around them how to mix amazing spices and flavors of the region.

She even brought us real plates and treated us to a treat because of how proud of her culture she is! 10/10 recommend!

We’d been wanting to try this Eritrean stand for years now, really glad we did! The owner was very friendly and kind. We got an assortment of items – our favorites were actually the drinks like the Mango Lassi and the ginger drink.

The food was quite solid, but needed a bit of a flavor kick to really excel.

Happy with the experience!

Food is fresh and healthy but a bit bland compared to a proper Ethiopian restaurant. Good vegan options.

Google says “open”, their business-hours say “open”, but the sign says “closed” returning at 3pm. It is 4pm.

First time I tried NahNa – I got the lamb combo with cauliflower & mushrooms, plus the hibiscus drink. The women owner was super sweet & the customer service great. The food was AMAZING. A little pricey, for the serving sizes, but worth it.
