Went here on a Saturday. This spot was well rated, but I was met with a really disappointing meal. My boyfriend and I both got bowls (one salmon and the other gyu don), we also got a side of onigiri. This cost us a little over $40. Onigiri was really poorly made, the salmon bowl had no flavor, my gyu don was grey, soggy, and was mostly onion and a couple pieces of poorly cooked beef. The tamagoyaki was really small, and tasted old. The bowl was $17, I paid $17 for some rice and onions . Just check out the pic.

Found this spot while wandering through Bow Market, and it was one of the rare Japanese restaurants run by a Japanese family—and it showed. From the meticulous presentation to the authentic flavors, their bento boxes transported me straight to Japan. Recently, they secured a permanent spot in the market, and it was no surprise they were quickly becoming one of the most popular food options there.
So far, I’ve tried nearly all their bento box options, and my favorites were the Salmon and the Marinated BBQ Beef. The salmon was a masterpiece—perfectly cooked to be soft and moist on the inside, with a light sear for those crispy edges. The side vegetables, with their understated flavors, paired beautifully with the fish. As for the BBQ beef, I was blown away. Given the price, I didn’t expect much, but the beef short ribs were high-quality—tender, flavorful, and with just the right amount of fat. While it lacked the pickled vegetables and garnishes of the salmon bento, the beef alone was enough to make it a bliss.
The only slight letdown was the onigiri. The miso pork filling had a comforting, savory flavor, but the rice-to-pork ratio was a bit off.

Good food, good people. A place worth visiting again and again. My favorites are the karaage/fried chicken and the katsu. The fried chicken dip has amazing depth of flavor. I can’t fully explain it, but it’s way beyond a typical spicy mayo.

The food here is fantastic. If you haven’t tried Onigiri you are really missing out! It’s like a making roll on steroids. Try the one with miso paste it’s an awesome umami bomb! I also had their fried chicken (karaage). Also delicious! Highly recommend!

Small little bento spot. They operate 3 days a week through another kitchen and the amount of love they put into their food is great. I loved their shrimp katsu sandwich. The karage chicken was juicy and I’m always a fan of rice balls. My friends got the salmon bento and my other buddy ate the sandwich, he said it was so good he ordered a second.

Delicious and authentic Japanese food. My favorite is Japanese curry with tonkatsu (pork cutlet), but fried chicken is fantastic, too. Highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic Japanese lunch box 🙂

Straight up some of the most authentic and delicious Japanese food I’ve had outside of Japan.
Nagisa and crew also experiments with things like a katsu hotdog. The whole operation is incredibly earnest, and I’m so stoked they got their own location after spinning out from nibble kitchen next door.

Nagomi Bento is the premier place to pick up your lunch. It has a great nutritional balance, perfect for a healthy diet and offers traditional Japanese lunch options that reminds me of home! The Karaage was super juicy and the onigiri had great taste. Highly recommend this place
