Social Profile:

Nagisa Sushi is a traditional Japanese sushi and kitchen restaurant located in Point Loma, San Diego, near Ocean Beach. Rooted in classic Japanese technique, our sushi is crafted by Japanese-trained chefs using house-seasoned sushi rice (shari) and house-made soy sauce, carefully balanced to complement each piece of fish. While honoring tradition, our kitchen also draws inspiration from California’s seasonal ingredients and coastal flavors, creating dishes that feel both authentic and distinctly San Diego. Beyond sushi and nigiri, our menu includes thoughtfully prepared Japanese kitchen dishes designed to be enjoyed à la carte. Our beverage program features small-production Japanese sake and truly organic wines made without chemical addit

Wow! For a place that accidentally opened yesterday, so new it didn’t show up when I googled it, this place I hope will be an elevated staple for the area. Small and mighty – by square footage, menu size, and flavor. Do yourself a favor and get a reservation at the sushi bar and ordered nigori to have the best seats in the house with chefs that truly care about your dining experience.

Cozy interior. Friendly staff. They are editing their menu as they work out the kinks (this was day 2 apparently) and more affordable than the worse quality sushi places nearby which caused us to look up and accidentally stumble across here.

Can’t wait to go back and bring friends.

We enjoyed the 7 sushi sampler. My favorite was Gindara. We are so impressed by this wonderful restaurant. Starting with the owner, he has a very serious attention to detail. We were enamored by the way he put together the Sushi. It was literally a show we felt he put on for us. In this area, there’s not a lot of sushi spots as nice and good as this restaurant. Thank you so much and we look forward to coming back soon!

Get an app or two, most are light, and then get the 7 piece nigiri. Trust me on that advice. Go soon cause this place is going to blow up when people find out. High end fish, great drink menu, place is beautiful, brand new and spotless. Highly recommend.

Lovely dining experience yesterday. I’ve been wanting to try this place and live across the street- now it’s my new favorite spot for quality, flavorful, clean tasting food.
I had the Wagyu Tataki appetizer, miso soup, and Ceviche roll that I just sat and enjoyed. I was very impressed with Connor who was very helpful with the menu, and very kind and genuine. Great service REALLY stands out these days.
I like the ambiance- nice music, calm, beautiful- perfect for a date night- glad I decided to dine in. I went on a Thursday at 6pm and the restaurant was half full, but I imagine a reservation on the weekends would be a good idea. Happy to have this place and wish them success!

Amazing nigiri, particularly the seasoned tuna and squash roll. The vibe is great and feels more upscale than what you might expect from its location. Love being able to sit bar side and watch them prepare the dishes right in front of you. Staff were helpful and friendly.

We came here for the first time to celebrate my husband’s birthday and loved it. The service was great—attentive but not over the top. The sashimi and sushi were super fresh, and we especially enjoyed the pre-seasoned nigiri. Every piece was perfectly balanced and really highlighted the flavor of each fish.

I’m Japanese, born and raised in Japan, and I’m pretty picky about Japanese food, but this place felt truly authentic. My husband and I both had such a good experience and will definitely be back!!

This place is amazing. The chef and all the employees are great. The service was phenomenal. It really reminds me of my time in Japan trying out small local shops. The food is perfect. 10/10. Must try the unagi. I highly recommend this to anyone who is in SD or is visiting.
