Every bite of food was absolutely amazing. The sashimi was extremely fresh and melt-in-your-mouth. Every bite was better than the last one. As someone who has travelled to Japan, the food took me right back there! You can tell there is so much love and skill poured into each dish. On top of that, everything is reasonably priced for the quality of sashimi.
The service was great! They offered to deep fry the shrimp heads once we finished the shrimp sashimi which was lovely. They also packed our food for us in the back!!
If you have a moment to speak to the chef too, he is very kind and lovely to chat with.
There is no doubt we’ll be coming back for future date nights and bringing friends and family.
Thank you for the lovely dinner!
But boy oh boy was this place worth it!! I ordered the Kaisen chirashi and everything in the bowl was so fresh! I loved the variety of the fish and everything melts in your mouth. The service was also top notch! The chefs wife was super sweet and friendly and all of the servers were always checking up on us to make sure we had everything we needed.
If you are looking for Japan quality fish that is authentic and traditional, I would definitely recommend visiting this spot! It’s also worth the trek if you are coming from Kanata or the west end of Ottawa. I will definitely be going back
We ordered the sushi and sashimi platter and it was a good amount for two – not too much but we definitely both left full. The sushi was nicely presented and very high quality. This was the most we’ve paid for sushi in Ottawa, but we both agreed we would come back for the quality – I do feel you get what you pay for.
Service was friendly and attentive. If you’re looking for date night vibes, the atmosphere was very laid back and casual to an extent that surprised us – but we’d pick quality over atmosphere any day.
I will say that the service is a bit off, despite being friendly. We asked twice for our water before it eventually came around. I do also wish that they explained the sashimi selection when it was brought to us instead of having to inquire. We didn’t come at a crazy busy time so I’m not sure if we had an off day.
Space is VERY limited with a small bar and a handful of tables to sit at. Reservations are recommended if you’re planning to try it out.
Wouldn’t make the drive out, but good in a pinch.
