Go to the City (Oklahoma City) and enjoy a variety of places to eat.
This was our first stop.
Being the only Filipino restaurant in the City (thank the LORD!).
Warm welcome, quickly seated, and a variety of things to try on the menu.
They have combo plates that you can put together with a few staples to choose from.
We ordered the 6 beef lumpia’s, ordered the bungus (milkfish) with garlic fried rice, I ordered the sigsig and dinaguan with white rice.
Okay, everything was really good, I mean maserap naga!
The taste of fresh fish, pork, and rice, geeez. The smell and taste took me back.
I didn’t take a picture of the dinaguan. Once the food arrived I took what pictures I could and jumped right in.
This is Asian soul food to the bone. We’ll definitely be back.
The biko was amazing too.
Oklahoma, this is a true gem, and should definitely be given a try.
If you’re not sure what Filipino food is like, please go YouTube it!
You really don’t know what you’re missing.
Love it!
The food is amazing and is an explosion of flavor. You can season the food to your liking and the portions are adequate. There are various condiments on the table to do so. I personally like the pickled chili vinegar.
My top recommendations are the pancit, pork lumpia, pork sisig, pork adobo, beef kaldereta, and dinuguan. The menu has daily add-ons so do check the Facebook page for what is being served that day.
As for dessert, the leche flan and halo halo are both great! The ube in the halo halo is homemade and gets sweeter as you finish this decadent dessert.
Overall, it is a must-try! You will not find a better Filipino restaurant than this one.
It’s pretty small, with only about a dozen 4 top tables, but the space is clean and well decorated with a beach hut vibe. Then you are met by the two lovely ladies running the place. Mother and daughter was the feeling that I got, but I didn’t ask. They’ve only been open for about 3 or 4 months, but I can tell you all that I will be working to single-handedly keep them open forever….lol!
When I go for any ethnic food at a new place, I always order at least one ubiquitous item and then some sort of specialty if they have it and I was able to do that here today. I ordered the pork adobo as my ubiquitous item. Adobo is the Philippines national dish, so I always get it and I can tell you hands down, that it’s about the best I’ve ever had! And I’ve had it in the P.I. and or from many a Filipino cook home in the States and even in a couple of other countries and this was absolutely some of the very best I’ve ever had. They have both chicken and pork available every day. I also ordered the Embotito, which is a meatloaf and am I ever glad that I did! My gosh! So tasty! It’s made with ground pork and has a great seasoning as well as a few raisins which are actually a really nice little bite each time. Served with rice, it was hard not to want to try to eat every bit of it but I also had 6 pork lumpia (They only come 6 or 12 to an order) to contend with, along with the adobo so even though I grubbed out, I still took a nice leftover box with me. They also have beef lumpia and I believe you can order 3 of them at a time, but don’t quote me on that. I’ll be having them on my next visit.
I ordered a piece of leche flan for dessert and while the young lady that acted as server was concerned that I wouldn’t like it because it was still warm from being freshly made and is intended to be eaten cold, but I ordered it because I love egg custard and I happen to like it warm, so I had a bite there…lol! So good! If I hadn’t been so full, I would have probably eaten at least half of it warm right there!
They are open Tuesday through Saturday so my next opportunity to try new menu items is two days away…lol! They are good about posting to Facebook each day what the specials are, so be sure to check that out before you go and I’ll see you there!
