We recently visited Nagano Japanese Restaurant, and it was absolutely wonderful! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — every dish tasted authentic and full of care. This was truly one of the best dining experiences in Vancouver.
We visited based on a local recommendation during our trip, and it turned out to be the most satisfying restaurant of our entire journey.
Our group was seated in a private room, and every dish was exceptional.
The freshness of the ingredients was very evident, and the balance and combination of each dish were truly impressive.
The counter (bar) seating also looked wonderful, and next time I would love to dine there to enjoy the food in a more immersive and engaging way.
All of the staff were friendly and attentive, and the owner’s warm and thoughtful hospitality really stood out, making the experience even more enjoyable.
It’s easy to understand why this restaurant has so many loyal regulars.

Jamie was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing, just the sweetest soul! We love her so much. She was so kind, patient, and helpful. The food was incredible, the ambiance was really peaceful. Definitely loved and recommend the crispy prawn appetizer She even gave us an extra little dish on the house. Thank you for making this meal such a nice experience.

Nagano is a Coquitlam classic—it’s been around forever, even back when Walmart was still Zellers! It had been almost a decade since my last visit, and I’m happy to say it’s still a fantastic spot.
Ice-cold beers, sushi rolls, miso soup, and matcha ice cream make for an unbeatable combo any day of the week. It’s a great place to relax, eat, and drink in the evening, and I hear they also host karaoke nights.
They even have Japanese-style private rooms, which are perfect for groups and special occasions.
Big shoutout to Melika and Sammy for their excellent service—fast, attentive, and detail-oriented.
I really enjoyed my time here and will definitely be back!

This is one of my “CAN’T GO WRONG” restaurants in Coquitlam. Foods are always well prepared whenever the restaurant is super busy or kinda quiet. There are seating options for small group like family dine-out or larger group like coming with friends. Parking is a bit challenge in that strip mall but you can park at mall and it’s only about two minutes walk from the mall parking lot to the restaurant. House roll and silkworm roll are my favourite. My friend ordered chicken udon and highly rated it. By the way, my friend cannot eat raw fish or other seafood and there’re lots of options there.

Lunch bento is plentiful with a good variety – miso soup, salad, karaage, tempura, tofu, and wakame salad. At first, we didn’t get the miso soup and the sauce for the tempura, but we managed to get it upon asking. We liked everything except for the karaage in the bento as it was overly salty. The restaurant is a bit dark on the inside with dividers. There are also individual rooms for larger parties.

$40 Nagano combo comes with sashimi, Cali roll, choice of treat Ali, salad, soup, tempura and ice cream. Feeds 2 peeps for sure. No other resto gives you full value. We’ve been going here for 20 years and we’ve never been disappointed. Nigiri pieces are awesome.

The absolute best sushi place we have ever been to! Quality ingredients, amazing flavours and the most friendly staff. We have been coming here for 20 years, it keeps getting better and better. I tried the yam tempura roll tonight.
It was kinda gushy and the seaweed was chewy and hard to swallow. At first I just imagined it was as such because it was take out but even the appearance was off.
It was ordered right near closing time. I will definitely try this location again and update my review if need be.
