I go to Nacho Hippo almost every time I’m in Myrtle Beach, and the Market Common location is always my top pick. The outdoor seating is a huge plus — you get a great view of the water and the soccer field/park area, which makes it one of the best spots in Market Common for a relaxed Tex‑Mex meal.

The service here has consistently been fast, accurate, and friendly. Every server I’ve had has been polite, attentive, and professional, which is a big reason I keep coming back. The food is always tasty and reliable, and I appreciate how consistent the quality is no matter how busy the restaurant gets.

Their margaritas are excellent — you can actually taste both the tequila and their fresh‑squeezed mix, which is a balance a lot of places don’t get right. It’s easily one of my favorite margarita spots in Myrtle Beach.

Overall, Nacho Hippo at Market Common is a fun, dependable Tex‑Mex option with great vibes, great drinks, and consistently good service. Always a solid choice.

We just visited on vacation with a family of 6. The staff was friendly and talkative as soon as we came in. The atmosphere was fun with great music and colorful lighting. The hippo decor and merch made it fun for the kids. We order the huge portion of nachos for all of us to share and it was so big we STILL ended up leaving with leftovers!! They were piled high and things like queso, salsa and sour cream were set on the side so the nachos kept a great texture and we could each add the perfect amount of what we wanted individually. When we ended vacation and asked everyone what their favorite spot was, this was the UNANIMOUS pick! We will absolutely be back. There are also a ton of shops to explore around the restaurant and a huge park with a great playground just across the street.

The food was great! We had a burrito and nachos and we liked the nachos a lot more than the burrito, but they were both great. Our service was not great, but it wasn’t terrible. Our drinks sat empty most of our meal and our server wasn’t very friendly. We will definitely be back for the food though!

Molly took care of us. We were 6 adults and 2 young kids and arrived at 1pm and were promptly seated outside under their covered porch. Molly explained everything to us and was very attentive to our needs. We ordered and received our drinks as well as our food in a timely manner. Nachos were hot and delicious. A nice variety to choose from. Great portions for Nachos. Two people are able to share one order, but if you are a big and hungry eater, one will fill you up. Tacos were of good size. Two seemed to do the trick thanks to Molly’s suggestion. There are more items on the menu and a full bar with a variety of drinks. Atmosphere is very comfortable, colorful, and festive. We loved this place. I look forward to coming back. Only wish there was one closer to where I lived!

Our family of 7 ate here later in the evening while waiting on a New Years event to begin. The food was amazing and the staff were awesome! Our waitress Jordan was so attentive even though we were a little needy. Staff also made sure my mom’s purse was kept safe when she accidentally left it. This is one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Thank you for taking such good care of us! We visit the MB area often and will make sure to refer other people here.

The chips were just not the best. Tasted burnt and like the oil was rancid. They tried fixing it, as the whole restaurant had the same problem, but it didn’t work. I asked for absolutely no cheese or dairy on my veggie sloppy burrito. Unfortunately they sprinkled cheese on top. I scrapped it off because we had already been there almost 2 hrs and we had somewhere to be. Used to be our favorite, but not anymore unfortunately.

The food was great as usual. The tacos never disappoint. Members of my party even tried new menu items and they were great. I can’t say the same about the service. When we checked in at the host stand they acted as if they didn’t want to accommodate our party of 8. Our waitress was rude and one ahe delivered food, didn’t come back to our table at all. Parts of our order were left off and our check was not even close to being correct. The only response we got was “it’s OK, it was a misunderstanding”.
I love this restaurant’s menu and the food is always good. I will visit the North Myrtle location moving forward. Service and atmosphere there have always been better.

Food seems expensive until you see the portion size! Our $21 mega taco fed 4 people! The food was amazing, drinks were a bit “light”, but tasty. Service was on point, and perfect “southern hospitality”. Next time we are in the area, we will dine there again.

Madysen was our waitress and was fantastic. We followed her recommendations and absolutely enjoyed the meal. Started with the triple dipper. Guacamole was good, queso was great and the mango salsa was a real hit. Didn’t know what to expect in the salsa with habenero, but it was not overly hot. The won ton tacos (can’t remember the real name) were really tasty and a nice light bite. Probably too much lettuce on the plate, but didn’t hurt anything. The luau taco did not disappoint either. Succulent pulled pork nicely mixed with the pineapple bits. A real classic. Finally, the house margaritas during happy hour went down WAY to easy. We really enjoyed the food and the fun atmosphere seeing how many states we could find on the license plates. Stop in and have a great time.
