The place really captures the Japanese vibe, despite their music choice. The staff is dressed in Japanese-themed clothes, adding to the atmosphere. While the staff who greeted us wasn’t overly welcoming, they weren’t rude either. It’s just a different experience compared to what you might expect from a Japanese restaurant.

The menu is truly Japanese-inspired, not fusion, and the prices are quite reasonable. The food looks appetising and is delicious! We ordered fried chicken, salmon avocado roll, squid okonomiyaki, and pork cutlet with curry. We particularly enjoyed the okonomiyaki, although they unfortunately don’t have the oyster version. The curry used was not traditional Japanese curry, but it was still tasty. I just don’t like the smell of it.

The chicken is boneless, which really meets the karaage vibe, and the salmon rolls were just fine. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed the food here. I highly recommend the okonomiyaki. This is a 4.5/5.

We booked this place last minute and glad we did, as you definitely need a reservation.
The restaurant is small and has a great feel to it. The service was attentive and super friendly.
The food was exceptionally good, and as we are not that experienced at ordering Japanese food, we were very grateful for the guidance from the staff.
Wine by the glass was excellent.
Definitely recommend this cute little restaurant

Love this place – been going here for years and it’s always amazing, they always keep a good quality of food and service, super authentic atmosphere. Okonomiyaki, white radish salad, sashimi and matcha pannacotta – are a must try

Authentic Japanese cuisine in Valletta, Malta. Dive into Japanese izakaya culture. Everything was good. I have had other sushi in Valletta before, and I can tell you this one had the right amount of seasoning and the rice was not overcooked. Looking forward to coming back and eating more sushi.

Nestled in a quiet street in Valletta, this Japanese bistrot is an absolute must-visit for sushi enthusiasts and lovers of Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere is serene, offering a perfect escape from the bustling city streets.

The sushi platter was a highlight, showcasing a variety of fresh, expertly crafted pieces that were both visually stunning and delicious. Unlike many places on the island, the sushi here is truly authentic, prepared by a skilled Japanese chef who brings a taste of Japan to Malta.

The slow-cooked pork belly was another standout dish. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it melted in the mouth and left us wanting more. Accompanied by a side dish that was both unique and delightful, the meal was a harmonious blend of textures and flavors.

The staff, who are also Japanese, were amazing—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience. Their passion for Japanese cuisine was evident in every aspect of the service.

If you’re in Valletta, do not miss this hidden gem. The combination of exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and a tranquil setting makes it a top spot for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended!

Very charismatic owner, very nice servers. The food (we had the spicy tuna roll and the edamame for starters, then the sashimi rice bowl and the sushi platter for mains) was of great quality and truly delicious. The fish melts in your mouth. We also had the sake tasting, which was a great experience and delicious too. After our meal, the owner gave us some plum wine on the house; it was very refreshing!
Absolutely wonderful experience all around!

Lovely sushi spot in Valletta. The sushi and starters were all very tasty, with a nice touch of authentic Japanese flavor. That said, the quality of the fish could be improved a bit. Overall, a nice experience.

We really enjoyed our evening. The food we had (sushi plate, miso soup, deep fried broccoli, various types of tofu, and potatoes) were really tasty! Although the potatoes were more like fries. The service was very nice and the atmosphere authentic. We would definitely come back!
