A clean place, but under staffed, so tables took a bit longer to be bussed than normal. We had usual breakfast fare, eggs, bacon, hash browns. Hash browns were a 6/5, being the best I’ve ever had, crispy outside, tender and cooked inside.

This is the second time we stopped in at this lovely little place. We love It’s classic small town family atmosphere. My son and I had the chicken Greek salad and were surprised at not only the size, but the fact that they use a healthy portion of roasted chicken breast, not the usual chicken fingers you get everywhere else. It was delicious and filling, and the best part for me is the dressing is served on the side!
Hubby had the special, battered haddock with the mash potatoes and gravy, and thoroughly enjoyed it. He was a chef for many years and appreciated the homemade, not from a box, gravy.
Service was quick and friendly.

The meat panzotti was very large and quite good. However, the restaurant needs a substantial upgrade and cleaning. Many tabletop surfaces were peeling and the entire place didn’t feel clean. The washroom was in very poor shape.

Poutine was great, fried curds were a bit over done but good, mushroom caps were good, Italian soup was good. As for the Reuben it was all bread and toppings and like one slice of meat. Very disappointed with the sandwich.

For a family restaurant in a small town, this place was just great. Super friendly staff, extremely reasonable prices, and the homemade pizza was excellent. The large serving of fries was hand cut and fresh and massive. If I’m ever back in Mattawa I will definitely be eating at Myrt’s.
In terms of atmosphere, it was welcoming and the perfect place after being in the woods for a week camping.

Waited over an 1hr for sandwiches (4 BLTs, 1 Club House). There was no communication from staff about the delay, no apologies for the long wait. The limited communication with staff was pleasant. Watched some patrons’ leave before getting their food due to the wait. Watched others come in and get their food fairly quick, eat, and leave before we got our food. The food was fine once we got it, just the wait was ridiculous with no communication, hence the 2 star for service and overall 3 star.
