I ordered online since there was a line. Went to pick them up and the order that looked like it had gone through on my phone did not get to them. I waited off to the side, as I was assured it would take but a minute. It didn’t take more than a couple. The wings that I had ordered extra crispy with hot honey sauce came out old and cold with whatever they call their “hot” sauce. I think it’s really called Frank’s Red Hot sauce. I should have marched them right back, but we didn’t want to spend half the day there.
We decided that we could get some Tyson boneless wings at Kroger and have a better experience. One, they’d be hot. Two, they would have the right sauce. And — of course there’s a three — they’d be extra crunchy. Maybe this was just our bad luck. It just sucks because I had such high hopes for the place.
I usually get dry rub wings. You won’t be disappointed. And, the people are friendly.
I had the BBQ burger and fries. The quality and taste were good and the burger was as much sloppy fun to eat as you’d expect from a bbq burger. The bun is really good and the bbq sauce they use is sweet and tangy. The fries are somewhere in between shoestring and classic fries. I liked the pepper on them, but I can see where people wouldn’t. Also, you get a LOT of fries!
The one star is because of the ordering process, not the food. They ask for your name and phone number (they text you when it’s ready) at the counter. Since it’s noisy at the CoHatch, you nearly have to shout it.
If shouting your name and phone number in the middle of a crowd of strangers doesn’t bother you, then you’re good to go. However, I don’t think there’s a hamburger on the face of the planet that’s worth the potential security risk of some creeper in the crowd getting that kind of sensitive info. You should be able to decline giving them your phone number and just give your name. When my order was ready, they called my name anyway.
I hate to bang on a new, independent restaurant and throw off the ratings curve when there’s only a few (3 at this point), especially since the food is pretty good. That said, the owners need to come up with a better ordering process that doesn’t put their customers at risk.
