I was really excited to try this spot because of all the great reviews, but it honestly didn’t live up to the hype. The mac and cheese tasted like a solid block of cheese — super heavy and overpowering the perfectly cooked noodles. The hot honey chicken just tasted like straight buffalo sauce with no hint of honey, and it made the chicken soggy instead of crispy. The only thing that really hit was the yams — they were perfect. But waiting just under an hour for my order made it even more disappointing.

This has got to be the best friend chicken in the DMV period. The batter is next level and the meat was incredibly tender and literally fell off the bone. The sides are fantastic too. I’m coming back for the rest of the entire menu. It’s that good.

Everything I ordered was amazing! I ordered the beef brisket sandwich, sooo much meat, the collard greens, Mac and cheese, and the banana pudding. The taste of everything was perfect although I like my banana pudding with a little bit more wafers but other than that 10/10.

EDIT 7/24/25: Take that sad gumbo off the menu! I know we’re in Maryland, but come on – you can’t call that bland soupy mess gumbo. No roux, waterlogged chicken shreds, rubbery shrimp, tasteless Eckrich sausage! And to charge $17 just makes me angry. Good thing I had the plump and juicy chicken wings as consolation (although they were bland like the catfish.) Why are y’all so afraid to use any seasoning? Clearly you use fresh, quality ingredients and know how to fry things properly, but where’s the flavor?

The fried catfish is perfection! Thick succulent fillets fried perfectly in a cornmeal batter, so fresh you’d think they have a pond out back . Two suggestions:
1. Add a little spice to your batter. Something Cajun like Slap yo Mama would be awesome.
2. Make your own tartar sauce! Serving little packets of crappy tartar sauce with that righteous catfish is just wrong, man.

i can’t wait to try. I’ll come back with a more thorough review then. went late on a Sunday half expecting the food to have run out lol arrived a half hr before closing – the wait for any meat was an hr at that time. I’m blaming myself, but not sure i should. no one wants food to go to waste, so i understand food being made to order.

This restaurant is a true 5-star spot, on ALL fronts!! I’m originally from Mississippi and I have been looking high and low for some fried catfish that would be on par with what I grew up eating. I’d not found what I was looking for until yesterday when I was introduced to My Cup Runneth Over!! When I say this is hands down the BEST fried Catfish I’ve had in years!!! On top of that the sides (I had the Mac and cheese, hush puppies & yams) were absolutely delicious (someone’s grandma or auntie is making that Mac and cheese!!)! For dessert I decided to have the Turtle cheesecake and let me tell you, I was licking my plate!! In addition, I had the pleasure of meeting the owner is he is just a super cool guy! I can’t wait to get back here and try more of their amazing food! Do yourself a favor and stop by!!

I placed my order with Jamila who was very kind and had excellent customer service. The food was a 4/5 but since this was my second time in a roll I realized that it all depends on who the cook was that day. As I was getting help with placing my newsorder there was a lady that came from the back and was very rude to Jamila because she needed her services in the back. The owner was also rude as she needed to know what was taking her so long with me. I had already spend $100 in the past 2 days. And was picking up another other for $31 and was trying to decide if I wanted another. It was only me in the store so no one was waiting. My message to you -I really don’t care how good you think you are but you win through good customer service. It is very important how you make you customers feel when spending their money. I have decided this is not going to be a place I will be returning.

Ordered a full slab of ribs, and two sides. The food itself tastes good but they need to do better with the portions of the sides. I can’t believe they are charging $6 for these tiny sides! See attached picture to see what I mean. I placed my computer mouse next to the side dishes for size comparison. I have been a long time, returning customer but I’m not sure I’ll be getting sides in the future.

This is my second time trying them. I wasn’t impressed the first time, but I like to give a restaurant a fair chance before making a decision. No one was in the lobby, again. Time management is poor when it comes to cooking food. For the number of people in the kitchen, it didn’t add up to me why I had to wait an additional time for my food. I was late picking up my food, based on the estimated time determined by Uber Eats, and I was 25 minutes away from the restaurant when I placed my order. Despite this, I still had to wait an additional 35 minutes. The fish is good. Everything else, when it comes to sides, is average. The favor isn’t there, and I got something different this time. I have had better, and I can’t say this is soul food. It’s a church plate with dietary restrictions. Over-priced. I will not be returning. If they can improve their lobby presence, food quality, and customer satisfaction through proper kitchen management and food delivery, they may be onto something.
